Ross Lyon won't be at St Kilda after 2012..
In my view this outcome is now as certain as death and taxes.
To give so much for the last 4 and half years and see the way we have disintegrated off field and on field must make him question if we really have the desire and will and commitment to succeed.
I hope that we get our s*** together off field and above our shoulders and things may start to turn our way.
Should Lyon decided to walk away next year (in some part due to the last 9 months), our club and playing group need take some responsility for this outcome.
Leadership comes from actions and not words.
It's now time to see who the real leaders are at St Kilda...

Well, I wish he F***ing would develop his players from scratch!!!marksnsparks wrote:Yes, regularly turning over coaches has been SOOOO successful in the past for St Kilda.
Ross needs to be given 10 years so he at least gets a chance to field a team that he has developed from scratch.
I don't think there's too many in the squad that he could lay claim to

My point is that Ross Lyon will walk away from St Kilda and coach at another club if our club does not get it's s*** together off field
In the last two months Robert Walls and Paul Roos (both friends of RL) have commented to this effect.
We need RL to help rebuild but he may walk away.
And for those who think my opinions are crap offer an alternative or FO!!

Hmmm...interesting idea. When's he contracted until, isn't it another couple years? Not that contracts mean much. Sounds like Walls and Roos are sizing up a new job!One Eyed Saint wrote:My point is that Ross Lyon will walk away from St Kilda and coach at another club if our club does not get it's s*** together off field

He's been recruiting experienced players only becuse he sensed we were not far off talent wise. He's wise enough to know that when the window is closing, you go for youth.saintbob wrote:Well, I wish he F***ing would develop his players from scratch!!!marksnsparks wrote:Yes, regularly turning over coaches has been SOOOO successful in the past for St Kilda.

If you have a good coach...you keep them..
However it is time for him to start thinking about the "next" St Kilda team though....chop those players who will not be part of it and start sifting through those that may be.
Silliest thing the Pies have done was to arrange Malthouse's demise.

Well this is different from your OP first sentence.
We do need HIM to rejuvinate our list (playing 22 odd) and not bring in another coach.
He can coach - I reckon he has proved that.
Now we just need to use our resources, both Seaford and our people to develop our youngsters and recruit wisely.
Something had to give after the GF's and the second summer of drama and
unfortunately for all it has been the onfield performances.
I for one think they have had a mighty 2 years.
