I don't care what you say...- Deadwood in the team

Post: # 1067442Post OneEyedSainter77 »

We have too much deadwood in the team. It is time to drop the serial letter downers. McQualter, Dempster, Gilbert, Dawson have all done stupid things in this game that have directly or indirectly cost us goals when we started coming back.

Don't care if this seems like an overreaction but if all four are not dropped to Sandy next week and for the rest of the year, I will be LIVID!!!!

I'm sick of getting consistently NOTHING from these guys week in week out - McQualter gets in and gets the ball but then undoes it by making silly mistakes with his disposal and not kicking CRUCIAL goals.... Dempster gives away THREE free kicks in the third quarter when we have all the momentum, Gilbert's disposal is shocking and has been since 2009. Dawson - I'm tired of the amount of times he goes the man instead of the ball.

Throw in Baker for going backwards TWICE to Gwilt in the third term. I don't actually care if they kick backwards when they are ten goals up in the final term but when the game is alive, be more attacking, i saw options he could have kicked to all around him, running past and he takes the soft option.

Drop all four and give Bakes a reprimand.

Four changes might be overkill but we're gonna get flogged next week anyway so I don't think it matters really.

I don't care.

That's not my problem, that's the coaching staff's problem.

One of many at the moment.

Schneider can keep them company as well.

Simpkin has to come in.
Lynch has to come in

Siposs would be worth a try
Why?
Because he can ACTUALLY KICK STRAIGHT !!!!!!!!

Ray needs to come back.

Time for Ross to make a big statement.
(Just as long as it doesn't involve a Gamble).

32 - banish - forever.....brings nothing and won't improve, isn't part of the future....try someone else...Siposs....

Not sold on Al Smith, his tumble punts belong in the early 70's. I am yet to see the ball leave his foot with a trajectory that resembles a drop punt.

Could not agree more with your opening statement.

The biggest question becomes "what do we do with this deadwood for the next 17 weeks"?

Maybe not drop them all for the year - that was a little bit too far. But definitely replace them next week and if they don't show any form at Sandy, don't bring em back.

last year when we were in that s*** part of our season, I said if I were Ross I would put a line through everyone and start from scratch and say "Don't perform and you don't make the team"

We were 5-3 at that time.

This year we are 1-3-1. I say we should actually do that this time around.

Lynch for Gilbo seems likely. The punt on Walsh may be worthwhile as an elevation if doable. Simpkin? Maybe.

Present liabilities need to be ticked off one by one I guess.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

I never said I expected to win.

I actually don't care what happens, I accept we are not good enough and won't beat many teams this year.... but I want to see us invest something in the future considering the draft is never any help to us these days.

Get rid of the deadwood, bring in some new blood.

To whoever changed the thread title, thank you, looks much better :thumbs up:

Spinner

Supporters demand and expect 100% effort 100% of the time.

If we got that tonight there would be 1/4 of the people on this forum tonight..

Ridiculous post- understand you are angry at Schneider but last week he won us the game.

Plenty of statements already made- dropping Blake, Peake, Gamble, Raph

Thats not a statement. Drop a big name player. It worked for Mline and Dal a few years ago.

Would agree with all those four plus also Baker. In sixty years of following my beloved Saints, Dawson is the worst footballer I have ever seen to get a regular game. He took 2 marks on his own and still kicked one of them short and terrible to a Crow player. He is always well behind his man and runs around like a headless chook when a pack forms. Dempster must have something serious on Ross to keep getting a game. Mcqualter got some touches but his skills are second rate.
Keep playing the kids, our season is shot but Armitage and Steven are looking like positives at least.

Why head hunt the bottom 6? That's not making a statement that's sweeping things under the carpet and thinking things will change.

The team needs to be shaken up and it needs shaking up by making the senior players more accountable Ross did it 4 years ago with Dal and Milne time for that same statement but with other players heaven forbid BJ and Roo and Gilbert! These are the players who I expect to be professional and 5 rounds in they have been anything but! Time for them to grow a pair and play like leaders not like spooky little children!!!!
