David Armitage hold your head high
Absolute warrior. Won the hardest balls and threw himself in with desperation the whole game. Plenty of
touches and heart.
Lenny would be proud.

Hear Hear.
Was really impressed by him tonight....kept thinking that sorta willing would be handy on a wet MCG in a GF in 2009.....but alas....we had other "secret weapons".
Well done Armo.....although signing a 1 year contract his probably thinking.."geez my price has gone up elsewhere...."

We can probably afford to up his pay a bit as anyone else coming out of contract is unlikely to command big bucks.Teflon wrote:Hear Hear.

Played 35 games since 2007.... F***ing disgrace....
Some of the guys who have played in front of him could never get a midfield gig, let alone lead a midfield.....
He has always had that talent....as we saw in a bog in a depleted side in tassie, dropped two weeks later....
Emergancy in two grand finals
Hard as a cats head, the opportunities for him to grow and accelarate have not been there......someone couldnt see the forest for the trees..
Well done the 2009 sandy b&f in 12 games

You are joking. Really .
This is the same player who was meant to replace Ball and now the player meant to replace Hayes.
Not even in the same league.
If he was the best of the rest tonight then this only proves how badly we are traveling at the moment.
Hope he improves over the next season or so, but really. don't get too excited.
Like Luke Ball, he is too slow, kicks like s*** and is questionable when we don't have the ball.

Armitage was huge for us in the first half as well. He was one of very few who played 4 quarters.saintsRrising wrote:Third quarter Armo was a big reason why the saints got back into it...

His run and spread was excellent tonight....
His contested effort was typical.......
Longwayfromhome........do you know why players who play a similar crash and bash game have lower kicking efficiency....their legs feel like they are lead, and are running on fatigue.....i can tell you, lenny was not the most efficient kick....niether is judd, jude bolton, maloney, watson, selwood etc....it their ability To win firts footy in contests is their skill and it the most important aspect in the game.....contested stoppage ball...
His work rate tonight was enormous...

yep...just a pity he wasn't given a real go before this year......shows just how wrong ross has been actually......most on here would have pumped for him to be getting more games than he got before this year......now he may be gone come seasons end....judging by his brothers comments...
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

Absolute gun. Whenever the ball was in the vicinity he made it his own. Never gave up and was consistently hard at the ball (as always).
After he polishes up his disposals and begins getting more of the ball, he will be a force in our midfield. The way he attacks the screams future leader of the club. Has a bit of Hayes in him and a bit of Luke Ball.

it's funny, I watched him plod around at Casey for a couple of years...Always had talent, no doubt about that.
I used to question his speed but always noted that with every game of VFL seniors he improved and adapted his game to utilise other attributes. Getting games was vital for him as his first lot of senior games at AFL have been very similar to his first lot of senior games at VFL level. He will adapt to the tempo and become a very good midfielder. Lenny has never been quick either, but football nous can't be taught...only learned
