for 3 quarters he didnt do anything.
his last quarter in the ruck, was one of the reasons we finally broke the shackle the lions had on.
his was out jumping and beating the lions youngster all over the ground.they even moved him forward and tried to bring leunberger back into the ruck.
will be better with more games under his belt and he certainly makes us look better

He hasn't performed in the forward line for....well possibly ever.
Not only hasn't he performed up there, it's been a long time since the team has functioned well with that structure.
He was moved out of there in GF1 and we nearly pinched it. Last night the momentum swung our way when he was moved away from the forward line and into the ruck.
He doesn't seem to get a lot of the ball, or a lot of hitouts when he's in the ruck, but for some reason we get a swing in momentum.

Put last night aside - wet conditions, first match back, low on fitness.
Stanley is not performing, so we need Kosi to add some power down forward and in the ruck.
Let's see how he settles over the next couple of weeks.
Didn't like the look of being trodden on his ankle. Was it the crook one?
Definitely no room in the forward line for both Kosi & Stanley.

But if the structure is wrong someone has to go and for me Kosi, Stanley and Rooy in the forward doesnt and will never work. Kosi is to slow and Stanley even though fast turns like a guy that is 202cm. One of those need to go next game IMO. Kosi gives us a bit more in the ruck so it must be Stanley.AlpineStars wrote:So its an excuse for Kosi not to do well in those conditions but for Stanley he's just not up to it?
We need to give these young guys a few games and some confidence instead of continually giving them the arse after 1 or 2 games.

Kosi was definitely poor last night,
He has however played good football for us before, whereas Stanley as yet has not, compound to this he isn't doing much at VFL level either.
Kosi has impact without getting the football, he breaks open packs, creates a contest. He is not a superstar but does some smart things that a lot of people don't notice, like creating space for Roo… He also demands a good defender, but at this stage I don't think Stanley does…
Let the debate continue…

Brisbane played as many talls as us and they all performed, why is the conditions a excuse for Kosi.. They all played in the exact same conditions didnt they, or was i watching a different game...
Its always the same old excuse for Kosi year after year and he still does nothing yet he gets games.. Averages 1.2 goals a game for a forward...

We played McEvoy, who can't ruck, Stanley, who can't read the play, and Kosi, who pretty much can't do anything.

my little sister could of pulled on the jumper last night and had more of an impact on the game than he did.
"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
How is it the same excuse when it's first game back from ankle surgery and he is obviously underdone, when has that happened before? How is it the same?stkildathunda wrote:Brisbane played as many talls as us and they all performed, why is the conditions a excuse for Kosi.. That is right Saintsimmo the VFL is different, It is the league you play in if you have NOT had a preseason or your current form is not upto AFL standards. I think Kosi ticks both boxes. I am one of Kosi's biggest supporters, I don't thing slippery humid Brisbane conditions was the best condition for him last night.SaintSimmo wrote:the knifes will come out for kosi but it was his first match in a long long time had no preseason and just needed this game for match fitness and dont give me that crap about time in the VFL its completely different. SO LAY OFF HIM

Well after our season had well and truly finished the club comes out and uses the excuse that he was carrying an injury for nearly the entire season... Blaming injury after the fact for piss poor showing last year is just ridiculous. if he was so hampered by injury why did he play...SainterK wrote:How is it the same excuse when it's first game back from ankle surgery and he is obviously underdone, when has that happened before? If he was so underdone this year why did he play this week and not play VFL last week to get match fitness.
We've got to cut both of these guys some slack at the moment - the whole team is out of form, Roo included.
Last night the conditions did not suit a ruckman returning after 1 preseason game trying to find form and Stanley had a shocker - that's going to happen from time to time. Keep just ditching these guys and we are in deeper sh*zen than GC.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
