Re: Steven, Stanley and ...
Steven utterly useless ....? Not sure what you were watching but thought he played pretty well as the game went on , 2 goals 5 tackles 15 possies..? Oh thats why your called the Perfectionist hard to please maybe..?perfectionist wrote:Play the kid we hear from there know it alls. And yet, most of our "kids" seem to have zero football ability. What we need to do, like Malthouse did, is "churn the kids" until you can find players who actually have at least one skill. Jack Steven is utterly useless. He can't run, kick (unless he is within twenty metres of goal), handball or think. This was obvious from his first game. I was prepared to wait for Rhys Stanley, but he has shown no improvement what so ever. Churn them and try someone else.
Jack Newnes happy to be a Saint !!!! PS and to hit a target !!!

Kicks goals. A very important commodity in this team in case you hadn't realised.Middo wrote:Steven utterly useless ....? But the touches he did get were influencial. It was McQ who spotted up Steven with a lovely weighted chip kick for a mark and goal. He also dished off several well timed handballs to Saints in good position when others were handballing to Saints under immediate pressure.Junction Oval wrote:It's Steven in for McQualter from here on.
McQualter came on fresh in the second half and hardly had a touch.
Quality over shear numbers everytime for mine.

Very harsh or f***ed in the head?Sainternist wrote:You're very harsh, perfectionist.
Jack played a terrific game for someone who's had so little footy this year and gave us exactly what we needed from a "small forward". His pressuring and tackling were outstanding, he got the pill and kicked two goals. He was a genuine part of the reason we won the game.
If he gets himself fully fit he'll give us what we've been wishing Mini would give us and probably then some.

Pretty much for the whole time at the club I believe. They seem to be ok at the moment. His second halves have been better than his first so he is at least running out games. That is a good sign.AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:What's the problem with his groins and how long has it been a problem?plugger66 wrote:He will be a very good player for our club if he gets his groins right.
