he cant keep up with the game. he has been a great player for us, but the time has come. he needs a send off game, towards the end of the season.

Was far from our worst and compared to Sam Gilbert was positively Judd-esque

I thought he went ok, the smalls were blanketed by bakes and smith- the talls got on top of Gwilt, Fisher,Gilbert and Zac and were pulling down marks at will.

Well put. Gilbo is struggling. It's certainly not lack of effort, just seems to really be lacking in confidence and as result execution has deteriorated.

Yep, the game is over now and Baker will be happy his team posted their first win for the season. And speaking of over, he was all over his opponent and snuffed him out of the game.

Great to see the little trooper in better form :)

Good game from Bakes...glad he's back! Maybe Grammy was talking about himself playing out his career this year?

I thought Bakes did his job- as usual.
There are others I'd be questioning before him.

not a bad effort considering he's coming back from a foot injury.....
..still has plenty to offer....... it may well be his last season, but his form last night doesn't warrant dropping him......did his job well... just ask Banfield.

who was he on ? unless it was black or power im not interested.. you need to be available as an attack weapon the 50% of the time we have the ball.
Bakes remains a real worry for me.

May be missing Blake more than we realised. A key man in holding that backline together over the past few years. Perhaps THE key man.

Very strong, versatile and durable player. I wouldn't have dropped him. There are other more deserving candidates.

However, we have too many tall defenders.

 Send one of them to the forward line.

 Gilbert.

I'd much rather Baker in the side at this point to be honest, just look at what he brings to the side. His attack on the ball cannot be questioned (unlike quite a few who played last night), he stopped his direct opponent from influencing the game, and despite him seemingly being capable of only kicking the ball 30-40 metres, I would much rather it in his hands than many others, because he knows his limitations, and he rarely misses a target.

Compare his ball use to Gilbert and Gram's last night. Baker still has a spot in this side.
