I reckon we got the most out of our team last year.

Our side as a whole was greater than its individual parts.

While not overachieving, we achieved the maximum - whereas teams like Essendon underachieved.
Essendon as a whole was less than its individual parts.

As a side ..
We are nowhere near as skilled or as quick as we need to be and we have an average forward line. We don't have great ruckmen to give us first use of the ball.

But our backline and game plan was enough to counter our deficiencies.

This year we will need to achieve our maximum again... but we need some help from our forwards - more forward pressure.
Our forwards don't kick enough goals - but can't they at least apply some more pressure to stop the easy rebounds and help the rest of our team out - especially now that we are without Hayes.

Forward pressure is the area where we can squeeze some more improvement from.

Really, we lost 2009 because of a luck toe poke from Scarlet and last year was an unlucky bounce.
we didnt lose due to a toe poke...we lost as we failed to take our chances in front of goal - see Schneiders inside the goal square FFS and missing...
Agree- in 09 if we had a better effort from the forward line as a unit instead of a couple of flankers trying to do the work, we would have won easily. Kosi played like a schoolboy footballer, Roo got beaten on the day, Milne went missing.. But it is all history and we lost. Geelong had a better team effort on the day. Lets look forward, as again in 2010, those weaknesses let us down..too much left to too few in the biggest game of the year. No evidence in 2011 yet, that we have a good team effort going on...here's hoping :?

Yes, we have averaged about 50 entries each game so far this year, time to knuckle down and keep it in there, like we used to.

I still scratch my head at one single I50 tackle for an entire game of football.
