Do what Thomas did
GT took the team up to Bonnie Doon a few years back to train up there and freshen them up and it seemed to work..might be an idea for RL to do something similar -get the team out of Melbourne, away from the pre-season bulldust. Spend a bit of time together as a group and get themselves focussed?

I think it's got to the point where the only way up is down for the team now.
They like us are mentally damaged. Trying to hang on to this premiership dream, once they realise this year is done, then the shackles will be released, they'll play with more freedom. I wouldn't think too many are enjoying there footy right now....who would after the last two years. Prisoners in Japanese torture camps have had to endure less than what they/we have. We need some rehab

Re: NZ
Nah that was a typical preseason overseas training thing, but this team looks like they are lost in the desert with no leader. Sometimes a change snaps the brain into actionasaint wrote:Isn't that what NZ was for?

Re: NZ
Not by our standards it wasn't... one of the distinctions was they hadn't had an off-season trip away since '06.spert wrote:Nah that was a typical preseason overseas training thing, but this team looks like they are lost in the desert with no leader. If NZ couldn't do it I don't see how Bonnie Doon will fix anything.

Agreed. Our leaders are in a state of disarray.saintspremiers wrote:BJ is a cancer at the moment due to his attitude.
We can't have a top player be like that as it destroys the whole team's ethos.
Lenny has done his knee.
BJ hates the world.
Dal has his own demons to sort out.
Joey is in a form slump.
Blakey was dropped.
And Roo keeps on working, but frustration and fear of a closing window must be eating him inside.
Who's left? Chips?
It's gut-wrenching to watch.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

My friend, you underestimate the powers of Bonnie Doon!InkerSaint wrote:Not by our standards it wasn't... one of the distinctions was they hadn't had an off-season trip away since '06.spert wrote:Nah that was a typical preseason overseas training thing, but this team looks like they are lost in the desert with no leader. Of course this whole situation is mental, like a golfer with the yips, nothing wrong with the physical capabilities of the players. I feel the drawn GF was the point of no return mentally for some the playing group- especially the experienced guys who carried the team that far, and the damage was done, so the replay was just a formality as doubt was in too many player's minds. All we didn't need was extra rubbish such as the NZ player debarcle, the girl rubbish, the move to Seaford, a whole new bunch of assistant coaches..if you reckon that a team isn't going to have heads full of crap with all that, then I'll go jump. So far we have seen a lack of leadership on the field, and I just think too many players thoughts are elsewhere.
