Some real ? Marks over some senior players
Fisher, gilbert, montagna, goddard, dempster
Sometimes having lots of possession doesn't make you an effective player.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

If he'd given 20 of them to someone else we'd be about 10 goals better off. He's got to go...when the going gets tough, we don't need soft players. Not enough body on from Gilbert again...only plays in patches. Goddard out of form, Dempster should not have been picked.kalsaint wrote:BigMart wrote:Hard to bag a bloke who had 30 carlton draughts.......he was better than most actually.....

Smith and Armo were good news though.

He put 200% more effort in, especially at ground level. Prior to that, he was less effective below his knees than Trent Knobel.BigMart wrote:His dropping was a farce....scapegoat...
Even to this day, dal has never conceded he deserved to be dropped, his output statistically remained the same......when he returned, just the team was winning.....
Yes he had finished top 5 in the b&f 5 years in a row....his ground level improved so much he finshed top 5 a couple more times...
I watched some 2005 highlights of dal...he was good....watched some in 2008....he was good.....last couple of weeks, he was good...
Fact is, he's just pretty good....dropping him did a bit .for others, nothing for him....he has got no better, no worse since it

Time for a new scapegoat then.BigMart wrote:His dropping was a farce....scapegoat...

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Speaking of Facebook:
"Our inability to lead, direct & clear the ball was really disappointing. There weren't too many positives. I'm also disappointed for our supporters" - Ross Lyon.
As for Jason Gram:
CP: 0
He can go back to the twos AFAIAC.

lets put things into perspective ... Goddard had a stinker but has shown time and time again he can turn on a big game ... Gram has played a great game in the grandfinal loss to Geelong , since that point he has been ordinary at best ... he get pleanty of the ball because lets be honest Essendon knew if he got the ball they would get it right back ... Gram has got to go , send him back to sandy reserves half efforts in tackling for a defender is not on ... Zaharakis (or how ever you spell it) has less then 20 games to his name yet he out bumped out possitioned and out ran Gram every time ...the same happened in the geelong match where the kid on debut out pointed him .. Gram is a senior player yet he is getting beaten by rookies ... not good enough ....

the bloke is a senior player who has played in 3 grandfinals FFS i would expect more then effort from the guy ... you can hang the effort tag on guys in their first 20 0r 30 games not on a player with the standing of Gram ....Legendary wrote:If the rest of the side had put in the same EFFORT as Gram tonight, the scoreboard would have read differently.
