For those who haven't realised it, with us having the bye next week and then playing at the Gabba and then AAMI Stadium in the following two rounds, Sunday is the last chance for those who don't go to the non-Vic games to see the Saints live for a month.
With this in mind, hopefully we'll get close to a full house on Sunday and mostly in our favour!

Having withdrawal symptoms already. Booked an interstate trip a year ago and flight leaves Sunday. So unlucky! So annoyed!

I am back in Melbourne for holidays from the NT during that time and don't get to see the Saints live, ah the conspiracy theory with the AFL doing a draw that doesn't allow supporters to see their team in Victoria for three weeks lives.

This is just typical of the "management" of the AFL.

Imagine if Collingwood copped this treatment in the programming - and if one club does why shouldn't every other club?

This is no level playing field - notwithstanding a salary cap (which is reqularly rorted with Judd the prize example of this in his arrangements with the criminal Pratt organisation and the "people's club" - we all got shafted by Pratt and his criminal activity so it is money stolen from us which has survived a bankrupt Carlton) and drafting (compromised by a father/son rule and priority picks - each club should take the number 1 pick by rotation no matter their finishing order or any other matter including sons of former players).

And the AFL make it more uneven with their "management" of the competition.

I heard Maguire saying the other day that Collingwood, with their turnover of $75 Million a year, aspire to have a coach for every player on their list!

Then we have the likes of the clubs needing significant financial assistance to just survive, starting from Port Adelaide and now including the 2 fledgling clubs from non AFL environs.

So how many financial basket cases does that make?

IF St Kilda were one of those basket cases (and thankfully we no longer rely on AFL hand outs and pre-payments to survive) how would the draw impact on the selling of memberships and the garnering of trading revenue?

Would North Melbourne survive such programming?

Would Footscray survive such programming?

And you can add a couple of others.

So exactly why do St Kilda cop it?

It starts from the top at the AFL - and the AFL is in urgent need of reform with the ego-maniacs (which includes certain Club Presidents) turfed for people who have a genuine interest in and a genuine commitment to Australian Rules Football - including to such leagues as the State leagues in every State and Territory and to other competitions.

With the amalgamation of the 2 basket case Port Adelaide's (AFL & SANFL) and the SANFL match (against Norwood) being the curtain raiser, it was played on a Saturday afternoon on the same day local footy kicked off - 23,000 spectators including "freebies" of which 7,000 left after the SANFL game.

With problems like these, the AFL delivers the programme it delivers to its CEO's "favourite" side - St Kilda.

Interstate games are a fact of life, but ALL sides should play interstate on strict rotation.

As the byes are rotated.

Just to emphasise the gathering shift away from the AFL, the Sturt v Norwood match at the Adelaide Oval last night attracted over 7,000 spectators - against the Carlton v Collingwood game being widely promoted as live on television.

The pendulum is turning.

The local product is good, hard and competative grass roots tribal footy based on district versus neighboring district (as Basset has written this week in the Adelaide paper) - and significant of the players are of top echelon abilities as "mature age" recruits from the State leagues to the AFL confirm.
