On SEN. Interview with Greg Hutchison from the Saints.
Will most likely go conventional surgery path, as also has trouble with medial ligament.
Is gone till next year.
Earliest return is envisaged as Round 1.

Will he play on?
Team on the wane (maybe), getting a bit long in the tooth.
He must be thinking it...

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Reigning BnF winner unlikely to pull the plug I'd think. Not impossible though. If the shite hits the fan and we miss the 8, then maybeThinline wrote:Will he play on?

STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Agree.
Attitude and strategy will change.
They surely will stop being sooking nancies and play footy again.
Time to pour some concrete, add water, and harden the f$&@k up!
Lenny is a legend.
Let's hope we can still be top 4 without him and pray the September and October gods aren't arseholes like 2009 and 2010.

100% Agree and another thing HAYES has been carrying that midfield for far too long. A really good opportunity for Monty and Dal and ???? to really step up. A lot of opportunities for a lot of players will start popping up this year will be really interesting rest of year l feel.Bardon Saint wrote:hmm gutted to say the least for Lenny.
Seriously a premiership cannot be won without him given our current form/list/attitude/strategy/etc. Blood the kids and set up for 2012 for a last tilt for Lenny. A lot can be achieved this year without a flag.

honestly think its career over for hayes...
even if he does go on i highly doubt he'll be the same (kinda like gehrig retiring then coming back)
at his age a whole season is a long time out of the game and it will well go past him
this is the worst news i have heard out of the club in a long time.....
good luck lenny you're a true champion.. and another one the clubs let down in terms of holding a premiership medal

I had that same feeling as I saw him getting carried off the ground last night.wasaintsfan wrote:honestly think its career over for hayes...

theres a big dif between roo and hayes missingCalais wrote:Lenny!!!
But..
In a very, very sick and twisted way maybe this can be a good thing? For the team I'm saying. They will lift and we'll find other avenues to winning? Similar to when Roo went down.
I feel sick saying this but who knows?
roo missing meant we had to find other avenues to goal...
hayes going means some one has to grow some mongrel and try do what none of them have been able to do before
only way to cover him is play the 09 style of play early season...
(which was collingwoods gameplan last year.. why didnt we keep doing it?)
and then thats going to be hard because of the 3 man bench...
hmmm hope armo can lift 300%
Tragic news, and we wont be able to cover him... Im shattered, as I now feel like our premiership tilt is over...
But retirement talk is way to premature IMO...
He'll be back and as good as ever... Sure he's over 30, but has showed no signs of slowing down the last 24 months, if anything he's playing career best footy...
We have not seen the last of Hayes..

seriously when will we ever get some luck for a change?

This is St.Kilda.
When have we ever, ever been lucky?
Lenny has been my favourite player from the first game he played and it just brings me to tears
this is depressing
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
