Dempster, Blake, Gram, Peake, Baker, Gamble have to go
Drop all of them
first cab Dempster
fumbles, does nothing except turns it over
two turn over last quarter goals directly attributable to Dempster
waste of time, waste of space
as is the others mentioned
WE NEED PACE
WE NEED KIDS
WE NEED SOME NEW ENERGY
Play
Steven, Cripps, Crocker, Ledger, Stanley, Winmar
and drop the guys who are now holding us back
we will not challenge anyone at the business end unless we make the tough decisions NOW
our only chance even if it's a small one
tonight's game was shambolic, cannot remember seeing so many stupid mistakes in one game
the ball transition is pedestrian
the kicking for goal is pathetic
the skills and decision making are woeful
Blake and Baker have been wonderful servants but they are now holding us back
their places in the team should be given to kids
Gram is a show pony
does not win a hard ball and his skills and decision making are abysmal
Peake is just a waste of space which would be better utilised with his place in the team given to a kid with leg speed and skill
Gamble adds nothing, does not much, waste of time
Dempster is an absolute DUD and cost us with his piss poor foot skill errors, not too mention two last quarter goals resulting from him missing basic targets, turning it over just when we looked like we were going to run over them
If Dempster isn't dropped next week it would be a huge monumental mistake
a total liability
hopefully Lyon has now woken up to what was obvious even before round one

...Heyne, Archer, Lynch, Johnson, Crocker...throw 'em all in this week, they'll tear Essendon a new one!barks4eva wrote:Steven, Cripps, Crocker, Ledger, Stanley, Winmar
I agree with you re: Dempster though...surely has to go this week.

AND I agree with you on every point you've made previously on this issueBigMart wrote:This has been posted....before tonight, and met with vitriol.....wonder whether we will see some changing of minds......
especially regarding Collingwood turning things around from their round three defeat last year, BY PLAYING KIDS and dropping long serving players who's time had come and gone
point well made and on the money

I reckon Bakes was good, but struggle to think who he'll match up on next week. I'm thinking Geary playing off someone in defence would be better. But FFS, Dempster must go.Sam23 wrote:I'd be surprised if Baker lost his spot.
Certainly won't be opposed to seeing Peake, Dempster, Jones (if he starts as a sub, is he not our #1 tagger any more? if not, he has nothing else to really add) and perhaps Blake dropping out of the side over the next couple weeks.
Jones was listed in our best. Peake was serviceable, need his run next week.

Time for Ross to let go of his fatherly love for Dempster. Sean is just not good enough.
Barks, fair point with Gram. They should drop him and make him bloody well earn his sport back into to the side.
I'm tired of these players who seem to take their spots for granted.
The team needs to start giving some of these players who aren't pulling their weight an ultimatum.

Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!
I thought that period when we had Roo and Gilbert forward, Gamble looked better?QuestionOfAccuracy wrote:I don't think you can totally dismiss Gamble after two games. I think him and Riewoldt are suffering from how slowly the ball is coming into the forward 50 and how sloppily it's being delivered.
Maybe my imagination, and fantasy land again?
Jones was listed in our best? Surely not.degruch wrote:I reckon Bakes was good, but struggle to think who he'll match up on next week. I'm thinking Geary playing off someone in defence would be better. But FFS, Dempster must go.Sam23 wrote:I'd be surprised if Baker lost his spot.

6 touches as the sub in a quarter in half of football. He was OK one he came on, but one of our best? Surely not.
I think Peake's bad kicking makes his run irrelevant.
Dempster cost us a number of goals with terrible kicking tonight, i've seen enough of him to know, he is not going to step up.
Goddard.

BEST
St Kilda: Milne, Armitage, Montagna, Dal Santo, Fisher, Jones
Richmond: Deledio, Cotchin, Martin, Newman, Grigg, King
Certainly didn't stand out as terrible, or Peake. Dempster, yes.
What have we got to lose from playing a young kid over someone like Dempster? Surely at the very worst they will only match Dempster's performance tonight, and if they're good enough, they can cement a spot in our 22 and improve the team as a whole. Based off tonight, Dempster and Peake should be out immediately, they were constantly second to the ball, and whenever they got it, they turned it over.
Pretty sad for Dempster, he was awful tonight, he tries hard...but it's just not working for him.
His spoiling is good, his attack on the ball good, postioning good.
His kicking was just terrible though.
Dunno.
Nobody on the scrap heap though, not yet.

Baker will take Lonergan next week and Dempster will have a job on the on ballers when they go forward.
Blake may make an ideal sub, while I reckon Gamble will get a few more opportunities yet.
Gram and Peake will get dropped because their butchering of the ball and their lack of accountabliity will finally catch up with them!!!

Maybe so, but Jones or (more likely) Geary could have a shot at Dempster's role in that case. Gram and Peake, I'm not sure we can afford to drop them...who do you replace them with? Eddy?? Mini???saintbob wrote:Baker will take Lonergan next week and Dempster will have a job on the on ballers when they go forward.

I can see a noob getting a shot, but only if they can be covered. The only thing we still have in our favour against Essendon is experience, I can't see RL throwing that advantage.
