I'll be very disappointed if nothing is provided for the Social Club.

The post match function is an institution. Besides it's better than joining carpark wars.

The "Match Day information" email makes no mention of it one way or the other

Well I'm confused. I'm a social club + AFL club support member. Does this mean I don't have to book a ticket through my AFL membership (which I have thus far neglected to do)?

The club couldn't care less.

I assume you'll get Paris Wells pre match and nothing else!

if you have a reserved seat at Etihad You will have on yuor Saints membership a designated seat number on your membership card

if you don't have a reserved seat at Etihad and only use AFL card to enter then you will need to follow your normal process.

The standard social club membership for most clubs at the G entitles members to use of the Lindsay Hassett Room and Dean Jones Bar. Don't see any reason why this would be different for this weekend.

You need to have a reserved seat for Saints home games to get the MCG allocation.

Unfortunately while most clubs care about their SC Members....the Saints do not any more. As far as the club is concerned the SC is full with a waiting list and so they are free to ignore.

SC now = priority GF ticket access as far as the club is concerned.

SC dos not equal Social Club....club has forgotten what the meaning of the word social is.

Was meant to be for those members that wanted to socialise.....like having a beer with like minded mates.

Social Club died at Moorabbin and was buried with the move further south.

Where are these rooms. Can't seem to find a layout of MCG showing rooms and bars

Well if this was the case you'd think it would have been mentioned in the Match Day information

I have finally made it through the waiting list and into the Social Club (sadly an advantage of our slow start this year which has created space on the bandwagon).

So, from the previous posts, can I gather that there is nothing for the Social Club at the MCG this week?? No Victory Room equivalent?? Nothing?

Yeah, I also got my membership upgraded back to SC.

Pretty poor form that there'll be nothing for us this week. It'd nice to think someone can breath new life into getting it back to how it wasin the Moorabbin days.

I gotta say though, Bernard Shakey made a pretty valid point in saying that joining the SC these days is nothing much more than a donation to the club. However, it is a donation I am willing to pay.

Me and the better looking half have also upgraded to the SC, we enjoyed Friday night in the Victory room with a good feed of Veg Lasagne and beer from a glass. Because Saturday night is a dedicated home game there should be some location for the SC.

yeah we got a letter a week or so ago, that invited the misses to join me in the elite membership of social clubbing.

i said to her she might be able to get a benefit out of it sometime in the next 15 years.
