You know I'm with Barks4eva on the jumper design issue.
I agree with him that the stripes should be equal, and that it's too important for it to be tweaked by someone every now and then just for the sake of it.
But I thought the black strip looked good. Very good.
The away strip should be exactly the same except with a white back and white sleeve and neck trim.
I'd consider that a total victory for St Kilda aesthetics.
And we're very close to attaining it if someone would just lock it in.
I liked the black look generally. Dark and mean.
I must say I did find my self thinking it looked like Carlton from the back though. Not sure why it had that effect, but it did on me a bit.
Still gets a big tick from me.

I respect your view avid, as I respect all posters views, however I just don't get these types of comments.avid wrote:I must say I did find my self thinking it looked like Carlton from the back though. Not sure why it had that effect, but it did on me a bit.
I went to the G to watch the Saints. Our players are out there wearing red, black and white. The back of the jumpers are predominantly black, as usual, with white numbers and sponsor's logo. I'm caught up watching the action and seeing our guys do great things and, of course, not so great things. I'm hoping we can kick away, or at the very least hold on. In the end the game finishes in great disappointment.
Throughout all that I never once stopped to think "Gee we look like Carlton" simply based on a bit of white missing from the collar and cuffs.
But hey, that's just me.

I don't like fact the members didn't get to design or vote on the polosaintspremiers wrote:The new members polo for $55 has sold out at the moment.
It looks like our new jumper and is incredibly popluar.
That says something IMO.
Might buy one myself, looks great!
The club also never got back to me on my plans for Seaford that I sent them. Just went ahead and built the damn thing

Agree.Enrico_Misso wrote:The back never had any red.
But at least with the white border we didn't look like Carlton.
We should have a jumper that is uniquely StKilda.
And is readily identifiable from ALL sides.
I agree with Barks, we should go back to the three even width panels at the front.
But perhaps the back should have a narrow red and white border so we look like StKilda from behind.
Overall effect is too much black.

Love the new jumper!
White contrasts strongly against black & red and doesn't need to be the same size as in the past.
I think that other suggestions about including some red, black & white "edging" on the back, have merit, as they will add a Saints flavour to what is a plain back with a white number - could be anyone.
So much for "tradition," which went out years ago. New jumper designs are all about generating much needed "money" for the club, which if you have kids, is another cost each year on top of memberships.
It would be interesting to see a few "designs" placed on Saintsational for a general vote, later in the year.
