I thought the Trailer was great. I emailed the club to congratulate them so I am anxious to see the Challenge tonight.
If it's caused a poster that's been on here since 2004, to give their second ever post expressing how much they are looking forward to it...
That's saying something about just how timely and good it looks
I think the club needs to realise if they let us in, we won't hurt them....we are the US, not the THEM.

My initial thought was what are we even doing dealing with channel nine?
That s*** waste crap channel. However; they gave us KD admitting there was no pregnancy.
Say what you like, it's not a huge feather in the cap for nine, but this was admittedly happy happy news.
But can nine resist the temptation to tampon this one up? Spaceman; I doubt it.
But but, is it good business for us? Yes, members members... maybe nine feel they owe us a feel good factor.
Similarly Wilson tipped Saints would win the flag this year. What a horrible low rat she is.
Can't wait for tonight. And I'll be screaming our fellas on Friday night. Bring it on!

AFL media brokered the documentray with the Saints
shot by Peter Dixson- slattery media
http://www.afl.com.au/NewsViews/TheChal ... fault.aspx
>>>>>>>>>>>The coach, in the modern era, is the true owner of the brand.
This story is about one such coach, and how the ever-present media had coloured my view of his brand, and how one radio interview, and then one meeting more than 12 months later, have turned that initial negative view on its head.
That coach is Ross Lyon.
When he took over the reins at St Kilda in 2007, he was clearly uncomfortable with the media, despite many years as a player and assistant. He came across as introspective, uninterested in the key role of communication to his supporters, and he looked gruff and grumpy, almost monosyllabic. I gained this view from the same place as any other follower of the game - via TV, and radio, the first point of brand-building.
Then came the interview that changed it all for me. Three days after St Kilda had lost the 2009 Grand Final to Geelong, a game that seemed in the Saints’ hands at three-quarter time, Lyon agreed to an interview on 3AW’s Sports Today program. It was shortly after 7pm and Lyon was driving home. I listened intently, expecting platitudes.
It was nothing of the sort. The interview was far-reaching, dealing with matters well beyond the mere loss of a Grand Final. This was clearly the Ross Lyon that St Kilda had hired: a man of broad views, able to put wins and losses into perspective, a leader with a vision for himself, his players, and his club.
I filed that memory away until February this year, when I visited St Kilda’s new premises at Seaford, a visit whose aim was to confirm - or not - St Kilda’s approval for AFL Media to shoot a documentary on the club, a club that had been under unreasonable, and unseasonable, pressure throughout the summer.
Ross Lyon’s approval meant St Kilda’s approval.
We sat in a meeting room, waiting for the coach. In he strode, a tall, imposing figure, bright of eye, alert, interested in our conversation, a conversation that quickly moved far beyond the purpose for our visit.
We covered our reasons for wanting to shoot St Kilda, from the inside. To show the humanity of a footy club - any footy club, not just one under pressure - to allow the players to have their say, freely, without prejudice or manipulation or spin. And to name the show The Challenge, a title that would cover both on-field and off-field issues.
Lyon listened, but had already made up his mind. He trusted the film-maker, Peter Dickson, and he trusted our concept. Unsaid, but clearly present, was that he trusted his players.

Most impressive.
"... You want to pose a threat to the opposition in as many ways as you can, both defensively and offensively. We've got a responsibility to explore all those possibilities - and we will."

second article written from the documentary
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx
ST KILDA defender Zac Dawson says breaking team rules on a club trip to New Zealand was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Dawson spoke for the first time about his off-season misbehaviour in The Challenge, a documentary filmed and produced by AFL Media and to be shown on saints.com.au from 11.15pm AEDT tonight.
Dawson, Jack Steven, Rhys Stanley and Paul Cahill were all suspended by the Saints for six weeks after breaking team rules on a training camp to New Zealand.
"I'm the first to admit I did the wrong thing. I don't think I've made that big a mistake in my whole life. I guess now I'm paying the price," Dawson said.
"I found out the hard way probably that if you don't live up to that standard, you are going to get punished."

It will be, guranteed. This is PR 101 and the doco is aimed for FTA on the net for obvious reasons. The AFL have a big stake in St Kilda improving their image/brand.Go Sainters Go wrote:Wonder why it's not on 7 or 10 as the Footy Channels - maybe they wouldn't give the Club airtime because it's a Club Positive.
Any way, great for 9 to show it following the Footy Show.

This is pure heaven.
A 27 minute doco on channel 9.
Smells like "Year of the Dogs" type doco about Footscray done about 10 years ago.
This sort of thing can be timeless and shown many times on Telly especially foxtel over many years.
Best PR the club has ever had IMO.

I did think Sam still looks very nervous and embarassed (as he would be). It did look a bit forced, but I do believe they will do what ever it takes and that they have moved on and that they will work well together going forward.

Think I'm going to have to hit the sack though. Bushed after a busy night doing a night shift last night.
At least I'll be able to catch it on Saints TV tomorrow!

Love, love, Loving it
Still watching the footy show on delay so might not end up seeing the full doco tonight. But the 7 mins (felt like more) they have shown so far is fantastic. Just great.
How funny was Ross shouting "dead-eye" when he realised that Williams had the mark in the drawn NAB game.
And his comment to Ledger - "update your status"
He's a very funny man, our Ross.
BTW, Ledger is my new "one to watch" player who I will follow especially closely. Decided that after the second Nab game and haven't seen him since ....

Watched it on CH9. Loved it.
It really makes you see the person behind the player and appreciate the team moreso. I gotta say, it's reignited that desire for success at the right part of the season.
Hope more clubs follow suit and do something similar for the AFL public. Would make a great mini series!
Oh and I'll be watching out for Tommy putting on those shepherds
