I recall soccer clubs in the UK having their supporters vote online in choosing from a number of designs for a new strip they would be wearing for a forthcoming season. Perhaps we should adopt a similar system?
Great idea we have been voting on the membership scarves for the last few years.

The AFL are the governing body regarding clash jumpers, we can whinge as much as we want but as we know the AFL look after the bigger clubs and the smaller clubs get left behind. Look at the NMFC with all there problems with the clash jumper issue the last few years.

Have a look at the Collingwood jumper of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's the jumper always had a white back, it only changed in the 00's to the black back to show off there sponsor more.

I think you stole that line from the Mayor of Hiroshima.

Just another aspect of the issue in that this AFL approved change resulted in a clash that did NOT exist previously forcing St kilda to wear a clash jumper in away games against the filth.

The board need to organise a meeting and outline the issue in it's entirety as I posted on the previous page!

This jumper is awful and once again if we make a Grand Final as the away team we will be forced to wear a clash jumper!

Image

OUR HOME JUMPER WITH A WHITE BACK DOES NOT ACTUALLY CLASH WITH ANYONE SO IN REALITY THERE SHOULD BE NO ISSUE

but because this would be approximately 8.3% short of some arbitrary theoretical figure that Demetriou or Anderson or some numbnut has pulled out of thin air it apparently is not acceptable!

Is Collingwood's away jumper 75% white?

I think NOT!

Our board need to be proactive, open communication channels on this issue with the AFL and not just sit back doing nothing, accepting some stupidly conceived guideline!

ACT NOW!

Wont matter if we are the away team.

We will be wearing it.

It looks like a throw rug.

No tks.

The white backed jumper makes absolute sense. So obvious the idea has no hope sadly.

Why not let supporters vote on clash jumper design? - at least then you know you have a captive market in terms of sales.....as its their design they like.

At the risk of being unpopular, I don't think the jumper matters much these days.

They've all been altered so much over the years anyway, that they're barely recognisable anyway!

The only thing I'm keen on, is the fact that our club has the unique Fortius qou Fidelius crest. It's a meaningful club emblem that no other has. It's very unique to us.
Rather than freaking out to protect the stripes, I'd be more focussed on leveredging off that.

I just hope this is a concern come GF time, I really do.... and if Roo collects the cup wearing one, it'd still be an infinitely greater improvement on what Doc was wearing.

If they must wear that piece of garbage, can we at least remove the black strip next to the red and make that part red too??

Currently there is hardly any red at all and it makes us look like we are wearing just black and white, especially when you add an arm there, it will cover almost all the red.

What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger.

There is little changes to the jumpers every year. Don't forget one of our early jumpers was red, yellow and black.

We got rid of the collar 10 years ago and this year the edging around the sleeves and collar are black. Its just a jumper as long as its Red, White and Black who cares.

THE POINT BEING THAT THE AFL HAVE APPARENTLY ENFORCED SOME GUIDELINE BASED ON SOME THEORETICAL FIGURE PULLED OUT OF THIN AIR!

If ST KILDA wore a HOME JUMPER with a WHITE BACK as an AWAY JUMPER and it does NOT CLASH with any other club then there should be no reason whatsoever for this to not be approved!

The laterally challenged AFL are imposing a completely unnecessary restriction on OUR CLUB in how we represent OUR BRAND based on a simplistic guideline!

McGuire would not let this dictate what they wear, WHY should we?
