Totally agree. Its a pity but the days of being able to go out where normal people can go seems gone. In this case I would trust Sam 100% though. I nicer guy you would never meet.

I notice The Australian has used the incident as the headline-grab for a roundup of AFL-related news.

Read on down a little... and you can easily see that other, more sensational news pieces could have been used for the lead.

Probably the most responsible piece of sub-editing on a footy story that I have seen in awhile from any publication.

Well done St George for posting a source to your subject. I disagree if a player wants to go out to a nightclub, there should be nothing stopping them from doing that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that as many Saints Players have been assaulted in this pre season, as has players from all other clubs. Well at least it shows that Saint supporters are not amongst the lower levels of society, as are those of some of the other clubs.

Personally, I think that particular nightclub has had it's fair share of this kind of stuff now, perhaps it's become a predictable hangout for AFL players and an obvious place for trouble makers.

I'd say give it a miss next time.

I have a kid who wears his Saints jumper when ever he can, and at 5 years old he doesn't understand any of the off field dramas. But I cop heaps from adults who claim to hate the Saints, and not just from the bad press. It seems a lot are resentful of the Saints attitude and game style.

The media adding fuel to an already damaged brands fire on top of a successful period has seen us go from everyones unthreatening 2nd team to the AFLs villain team.

I even had a Saints supporter come up and say to me that she is changing teams over the Kimmigate crap. When I suggested that it was put to bed after she admitted lying. I was told that I was a naive optimist.

Unfortunately we are going to remain targets until we are crap again.
