Letter to Michaels Mailbox !
Here is a letter I just sent to Michaels Mailbox. This is the 3rd letter that I have sent. Still NO replies
Michael,
With our Rd 3 HOME GAME v Essendon getting closer & closer. I would like to ask AGAIN;
Will we be wearing our traditional jumpers for this game or will we be forced to wear our clash strip? If, as I suspect we will be required to wear our clash strip I (and many other members & fans) believe we are entitled to an explanation from both the club and the AFL as to why this is to occur.
My feelings on this are that this is symbolic of the AFL bowing to the traditionally rich & powerful clubs whilst at the same time forcing other clubs to comply with an inequitable set of rules
Please convince me I am wrong on this. The silence on this issue has to stop
Eastern !!
What are my chances of getting an answer this time? !!

I like our clash strip when we are the away team and our jumper causes a clash with our opposition.plugger66 wrote:I suppose the question I would ask is do people like the clash strip?
Whether we play better or not in it is immaterial. The principal is that the away team should be forced to wear a genuine alternative strip in the event of a clash with the home team.
This is not about St Kilda and Essendon specifically. This is about the rules being consistently applied to all teams...But I should know by now that it is never going to happen.
But the cause is still worth fighting for!

But that is code forjk23 wrote:He said at the AGM the AFL decide what jumpers we have to wear...
From the AFL's perspective
"We aren't prepared to stand up to Collingwood and Essendon so we will let them do as they like".
From Westaway's perspective
"We aren't prepared to stand up to the AFL and demand the rights that all Home teams should get so we will let them do as they like".
It is time the AFL stood up to Collingwood and Essendon.
And time Alwaysaway stood up for StKilda.
(This is an issue of principle - not about if we like the look of our clash jumper).
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

NO, it's sucksplugger66 wrote:I suppose the question I would ask is do people like the clash strip?
What's the fixation with crosses for starters and people wonder why we keep getting FKN crucified!
Our clash jumper should be OUR HOME JUMPER with a white back, ALL panels the same width just like our home jumper!
The same as what Collingwood do, replacing the black with white on the back and this would not clash with anyone!
We might as well run out in a white flag!
It should be a no brainer but the cheese eating surrender monkeys have no balls, no vision and no credibility!
The entire board should stand down effective immediately!
Don't hold your breath waiting for Nettlefold to answer a question!

Lets NOT get confused here. There are 2 seperate issues of equal importance;barks4eva wrote:NO, it's sucksplugger66 wrote:I suppose the question I would ask is do people like the clash strip?

The cheese eating surrender monkeys have no balls and stand for nothing!
So much for misrepresenting our brand!
That they have allowed this to happen in the past, running out in away jumpers for home games against Essendon speaks volumes about them!
The board need to seek a meeting with Demetriou and outline their concerns about this issue to have any credibility whatsoever!!
BUT more importantly the board need to state that our clash jumper will now be our home jumper with a white back and show the AFL/Demetriou that in fact
1. this jumper does not clash with anyone
2. this jumper most represents OUR brand
3. this jumper will only be worn for clash games when we are the away team
4. this jumper will be what we will be wearing and thankyou for your time!

Oh Barks, your absence should have made the heart grow fonder. Unfortunately your back with the same sort of garbage - only suitable for a Visy garbage truck. So your back to the lowest level of crap, same old same old!
Incidently, isn't the away strip to be the same as last year, traditional front (a little narrower red and black panels) with white back and black numbers. I'm in favour of last year's strip - the best of compromises.

This is the only real-life picture I'm aware of this year's clash (it's from the ISC website):Go Sainters Go wrote:Incidently, isn't the away strip to be the same as last year, traditional front (a little narrower red and black panels) with white back and black numbers. That bodice looks a little too rounded though...I think it'll look a little different on the players; more red and black.

Posting in this thread is one small thing I've done to distract my mind from the disaster which has brought me to tears, MATE
Fair enough, but dont take it for granted that it has effected you more or less than me. I have many friends in Japan, as I am sure you do as well.barks4eva wrote:DO NOT THINK ONE SECOND THAT I'M NOT INCREDIBLY SADDENED BY THIS TRAGEDY!joffaboy wrote:Fkn hell

Anyway it is not about you or I.
I am sick to the stomach with the disaster in Japan and clash strips are a million miles away from my thoughts ATM.

That fits in with the AFL guidelines of 75-80% contrast (in this case white). The Collingwood clash strip needs the black stripes to be a bit skinnier to fit into the guidelines and Essendon needs to be told to come up with something that fits within these guidelines or face a hefty fine !!thequarry wrote:This is the only real-life picture I'm aware of this year's clash (it's from the ISC website):Go Sainters Go wrote:Incidently, isn't the away strip to be the same as last year, traditional front (a little narrower red and black panels) with white back and black numbers. I dislike that away strip.
I vote in favour of the clash strip being our HOME jumper with a white back, only to be worn when we are the away team and there is a jumper clash.
Joffaboy, the tragedy in Japan is shocking and saddening, but this is a St.Kilda fan forum.

This topic, whether you agree or disagree, has plenty of interest for many Saints suppoters. That there has been no "club response" to three formal letters, either via their website, or even a phone call, says a lot about what they think - lay low and let things slide.
This is a very topical subject and a few calls to relevant football Radio stations will put a public profile to this question and I bet that only then, will the Club respond.
So sad to see what has happened in Japan.

The AFL fawns over the Bombers and now james Hird is back they will be rubbing their crotches on his pic. Don't expect anything but more Essendon ass sucking from the AFL. They will prob. make us change our home strip so the bombers can trademark the red and black.
As long as we win a premiership I don't care.

That away jumper is a FKN disgrace!
FACTS are our HOME jumper with a white back has a larger percentage of white than Collingwood's accepted away jumper,
SO what's the deal on that for starters?
How is it possible for OUR HOME JUMPER with a white back to be somehow not acceptable, if you actually believe our boards spin, not that they've actually ever answered the question openly and honestly!
AND if it's all about designing a jumper that doesn't clash then OUR HOME jumper with a white back clashes with noone anyway, so what's the apparent fuss about from the AFL?
I however think it's more about our boards failure to communicate clearly and effectively with the AFL to begin with, to second guess, jump at shadows and bend over every **** time, like the lame arse cheese eating surrender monkeys that they are!
So we might have to wear that away jumper in a Grand Final if we are fortunate to make it and once again the board have failed to deliver what the majority of members would vote for!
CLOWNS!
