MEDIA CLEAR THE AIR?

Post: # 1046350Post BackFromUSA »

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/girl- ... 1bjoc.html

suddenly becomes the heaqdline ... "Saints teen: pregnancy lie"

Finally a step in tthe right direction but so far Herald Sun yet to highlight the lie ... too busy roasting Nixon based on evidence presented by this liar ... he may in fact be guilty BUT isn't about time they highlight her lies that have impacted on our club?

How about a headline ... SAINT WAS INNOCENT ... to clear Sam's name?

There is no issue of guilt or innocence because the age of consent in Victoria is 16.

I think it was meant in relation to the fact that many bucketed Gilbert because he dumped once he thought she was pregnant

Headlines I'd like to see -

"Dowsley admits : I forgot to ask the obvious questions".
"Caro confesses : Yep, I fell for it, hook line and sinker".
"Hinch : My judgement is shot, it's time to retire."

And the editorial -
"To the St Kilda Football Club - A sincere apology".

The weirdness continues...the KD story is missing from the 60 Minutes website, but the night's other stories are up. Wonder if Nine's lawyers
made a mistake in clearing the story to go to air?

Now watch the media take the attention of the way they handled the incident by blaming Ricky Nixon, I feel for that guy and dont believe a word of what she has said.

3AW discuss how the sms could be faked

but she would only have needed the second phone and put in his name rather than phone number-- as someone said.

But surely a reputable program such as 60 minutes would have checked both the SMSs and the e-mails to ensure they actually came from Nixon.

Surely!

Surely!!!

Hang on

I was thinking the same.
Surely those in the media have Ricky's mobile number already. The media always seems to have the mobile numbers they need to get a quick quote or a no comment.

So surely they could just check that number against the number in her phone registered to Ricky, against the number they have for him.
Sure, he could have more than one mobile I guess....

Like the rest of this story, it doesn't seem many facts have been checked along the way.

There is no suppression order any more. I believe that the "legal reasons" relate to a police officer who is alleged to have had sex with the girl who cannot be named. The age of consent in that case would be 18, therefore, the Crimes Act prohibits the naming of the alleged victim. I suppose Nine will argue that the cases are separate and that they did not mention the officer case in the report. Thin ice. But they got their ratings - that's all that matters.

But it was the judge in the Saints case at court Dec last year that surpressed her name...

Liz Hayes, back in the day of Wendt, was quite pleasant on the eye, but watching her there last night, mug shiny with wrinkle filler, head tilted, nodding on cue, oozing faux empathy, well, I couldn't help but think she now has a head like a scrotum.

There. I said it.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Liz Hayes exposed KD for what she is. She got her to admit that she made the whole thing up about the pregnancy. She got her to admit that she lied about her age. She got her to admit that she only liked the footballers because of the talk they gave at the school. What she looks like is irelevant. I thought she did a good job and I really dont think that she felt any sympathy for the girl at all. Liz actually outsmarted KD. Some of the questions KD just wouldnt answer or couldnt answer. Geez if they had of sent a bloke to do the interview we may have never of seen him again.

A good journo brings out the facts, and I think Liz did this and you dont need to be pretty to do it.
