But not till after Rd 3 when we play the AFL's new love child where it is looking more and more likely that we will be required to wear our "clash strip" at OUR home game !!SaintSimmo wrote:Put money on the Herald Scum making a huge article out of this.
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

It just shows up the fundamental fallacy of the "clash strip" regime:
West Coast would have looked LESS like Collingwood had they worn their regular strip. It's all driven by other agendas -- illegitimate, discriminatory and aesthetically self-defeating in my book.
Commercialism over footy culture. Dressed in deceit.

Because Essendon don't have a realistic clash strip, the AFL don't have the b@lls to force them to create one and St KFC executives don't have the b@lls to stand up to either, making us look (and behave) like a 2nd class member of the comp !!Moccha wrote:Why??Eastern wrote:But not till after Rd 3 when we play the AFL's new love child where it is looking more and more likely that we will be required to wear our "clash strip" at OUR home game !!SaintSimmo wrote:Put money on the Herald Scum making a huge article out of this.

If that happens we should bombard the club with e-mail, letters, and phone calls to make them feel our wrath.
It is time Alwaysaway stood up for this club.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Couldnt give a stuff what jumper we wear but I hope we win the game. Only thing that matters.Eastern wrote:Because Essendon don't have a realistic clash strip, the AFL don't have the b@lls to force them to create one and St KFC executives don't have the b@lls to stand up to either, making us look (and behave) like a 2nd class member of the comp !!Moccha wrote:Why??Eastern wrote:But not till after Rd 3 when we play the AFL's new love child where it is looking more and more likely that we will be required to wear our "clash strip" at OUR home game !!SaintSimmo wrote:Put money on the Herald Scum making a huge article out of this.

What ever happened to the away team wearing white shorts?
White shorts with contrasting socks, there were no problems in the past.
And as far as TV is concerned... TV's these days have higher definition.
In the 66 GF does anyone have any problem telling the sides apart?
And that was in F#*KING black and white!!!
Spare me please.

A lot more players arouind the ball these days and that is why we shouldn't compare to days gone by. The AFL have rules in place that state that ALL clubs need to have a realistic clash strip. They enforce these rules on all clubs except Collingwood & Essendon. Go figure !!

Agreed. Also thoroughly agree with the idea that away team should simply wear white shorts. Anyone remember which jumpers we wore in last years GRAND FINALS? Yes, that's right, we were wearing an alternate jumper, not the true ST.Kilda jumper. And, ffs, there was more of a clash with Collingfilth then there would have been if we'd worn our traditional jumper with white shorts. If this club wears its clash strip for ANOTHER home game against Essendon (Rd 3) then I think it's sending a very bad message to the team and the supporters -- that we're second class.
Disgraceful.

Do you ever have anything negative to say about how the AFL is run by any chance?plugger66 wrote:Couldnt give a stuff what jumper we wear but I hope we win the game.
