Geary: Jeckyll and Hyde

Post: # 1045891Post saintsRrising »

I think that Geary once again showed that he is a real Jekyll and Hyde.

On the one hand there is a lot to like about Geary. He is hard at it, wins the ball well, runs well, supports well.....

...........BUT when he gets the ball in his hand he undoes all that with poor disposal and with making poor decisions.

Last night was not an aberration....and unfortunately the trend is that he is not improving in this facet.

For the Saints to go forward this year we need to squeeze out of our 22 players that turn the ball over too easily and/or too often.

I think the mantra needs to be this year with some of our fringe players..if in doubt go for the more skilled and "smarter" player.

Raph , Peake , Geary , Smith , Gram seems like every time they get it they kick and hope !!

Dont think he is going to make it at this stage...

Just not into it enough - and kicking is ordinary.

Hope this doesnt make me a racist - Whatever race Geary is....

Saintsrising spot on again.

Great tenacity.....but why why why are so many players getting to AFL level and they cant even kick correctly?

How it happening? Too much focus on 18 year old kids who beep test well? Beep tests and all that other fitness crap is nothing compared to a brain oozing with with footballness.

Recruiters, this applies to all clubs, have to focus more on skill.

Spot on, what a relief it is when the likes of Gwilt , Dal or Bj has the pill...everytime we play Ess the whole Ess team seems to have their skills.

That is why Armo is so important to us Fireman, if he can help out Lenny, then the ball ends up in the hands of a Goddard or a Dal...

This is Armo (who like Lenny) was flying blind without a ruckman.

(BJ 13 disp, Lenny 11 disp, Armo 10 disp)

Lenny was getting tagged.

Players still need to get the ball around the ground... Ruckman or no ruckman.

Sure Spinner, that's true. Reality is everyone had a shocker, but IMO he still worked hard and laid 6 tackles.

Yeah his possessions and impact relative to others isnt that bad.

But he only had ten.. His spot isnt certain at this stage imo by the boss.
