I think we will play the Pies on Friday night.

It appears that the two "best losers", which will almost definitely include us, match up against teams to the discretion of the AFL.

ie. what will draw the biggest crowds/ratings.

So clearly, that means we will play the Pies on Friday night.

May as well lock it now Eddie.

But will the AFL look at it a different way?
I mean Collingwood will draw a crowd no matter who they play, so maybe they choose to play us against a different side to ensure more decent crowds rather than one 'massive' crowd.

If the AFL are going to have discretion on who plays who you are forgetting one major factor. The need to give Collingwood the easiest possible draw and to screw us around and make us play interstate. So put your money on us travelling to Perth and Collingwood to play probably Gold Coast if they can smash GWS and get that 2nd losers spot...

No, they do not make it up as they go.

Collingwood play the no. 1 ranked wildcard which at the moment happens to be us.

So unless there is another draw they will play us.

Aren't Essendon the number 1 ranked wildcard?

The only thing shitter than the whole format and rule changes is the fixturing.

Well done to the AFL on another attempt at wasting time with crap ideas that came from a tax write off booze up.

I have not studied the rules...but if you geta pool where each team wins one game, which can happen, ...would we with a win a and draw be in front of all three?

No because someone will still win group of 3.

The winner of each pool goes through. The remaining teams are placed on a ladder and the top 2 go through as wild cards.

The AFL should have announced a replay for next week so all games should have been held off until then.

Nothing is wrong with it.

Must say I like twenty20 footy for the pre season comp. Shame that from next round onwards its 4 quarter games.

40 minutes is long enough for a pre season praccy match.

At home. I was walking into the kitchen and was about to get some breakfast. I ended up having chicken and cheese sandwich. Toasted. It was good. I then asked some guys when we were playing next and they said probably Saturday night against todays winners.

PS I am going to have a sausage in bread for lunch.

Surely it's too early for anybody to know where we are playing?

We are currently the number one ranked wild card with Sydney being the number two.

If two teams draw their match and absolutely smash the other team that they played then one of them will go through as the winner of the pool and the other might have a better percentage than us, meaning that they will now be the number one ranked team in the pool.

I think chicken's underrated in toasted sandwiches.

Anything else in the sausage in bread? Cheese? Onion? Tomato sauce is ok but I prefer some types of BBQ sauce. Maybe even mustard? Although now I'm making it sound more like a regulation hot dog.

All that said...chances are we'll be playing a top four team from last year - whether it's Collingwood, Geelong or the Bulldogs. Would be good to see the kids exposed to decent opposition (albeit in the NAB Cup), at the very least on a decent size ground and in front of a decent crowd.
