well here we go and in the absence of any other reports evidently the Bummers flogged the Lions in the opening stanza
Now our go at them!!!............

ESSENDON has handed the Brisbane Lions a heavy defeat in the opening round of the NAB Cup, the Bombers running away winners by a massive 62 points.

In what was a one-sided contest, Essendon kicked 1.11.1 (76) to 0.2.2 (14).

Dyson Heppell, Essendon's first round draft pick in 2010, was outstanding in his first senior game for the Bombers, picking up nine touches.

Rookie-listed Stewart Crameri had a night to remember, kicking three goals in a sizzling performance. Michael Hurley also slotted three.

There were few positives for the Lions, who must quickly regroup for their clash with St Kilda.

It was easier to find the team list on BigFooty than on the AFL site.

How many touches did Armo get in the finals?

Oh.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
