bombers and pies have done very little wrong over the past years, i dont think the collingwood players were found guilty for whatever they did last year? they have every right to take the piss out of us. we are the laughing stock of the afl. 1 premiership in 127 odd years, choked against Port in 04, Swans in 05, Hawks in 08, Cats in 09 and although we were a long way behind against the pies at one stage in 2010 we were infront with 3 mins to go so thats another choking. and on top of all that our players are off having a little party 6 weeks out from round 1.

To be honest, I'm over it, we aren't the only football club that has dramas, eg Didak and Shaw, Cousins and co, Fevola, Schwarz etc.
We are just the ones having it now because a few of our guys decided to be totally stupid.

As for collingwood they had didak associating with a man who was shooting police stations. A man who would later kill 2 innocent people. TWo deaths didak possibly could have prevented. Heath and didak could have killed themselves drink driving or worse still an innocent family and they then went on to lie to everybody about it.

Their coach went on to the field and called an opposition player a f****** rapist. If he had any integrity he would now have to sack beams and the other bloke.

They have now stolen two players through very questionable means.

The unfortunate thing is people don't view there things objectively. Mud sticks. People will always hear about st kilda being in the paper and they will continue to associate innuendo towards our club and players.

Whilst zac and co's behaviour was inexcusable, so too is the behaviour of the media in football. The fact is there are too many journalists covering the game and when they can't find a story they make one up and the public lap it up.

The difference, quite clearly, is that our 'crimes' are for the most part of the type that lend themselves to scuttlebut and innuendo. Pies crimes are for the most part just that. They can't be talked about. They get bogged down in a spray of 'no comments on legal advice' and 'we have to respect the judiciary'. They also have a powerful media identity at the helm and an open and willing attitude towards the press and TV. We on the other hand choose a bubble. We are an easy target, we make ourselves one, and as such we shouldn't express surprise to be attacked with extra venom when we are caught nude or popping pills.

So because we don't suck up to an entire industry that needn't be there we deserve vilification? that doesn't sit right with me.

I know people will think that this is either the conspiracy theorist or the psychologist coming through in me but I have long believed that the reason why we are so hated at the moment isn't because of our bubble, or the fact that Ross Lyon is an acquired taste, it's because we're breaking the status quo.

The attitudes of the Carlton's, Essendon's and Collingwood's is that we are the perennial cellar dwellars, we need to learn our place and get back to the bottom of the ladder.

Not worried about the herald bum's predictable focus on cheap and easy innuendo and unsubstantiated allegations regarding st. Kilda's 'Suspect Culture'. There's no joournalistic insight here. No journalist in herald land has to do any serious investigation on anything footy related to get printed. The real news in footy journalism is nearly always in the age.This is simply a rehash of previous history and now ui'm wondering how accurate that was anyway. The Herald Sun have the worst reputation for hopelessly inaccurate and brazenly cooked up news in melbourne.

I'm more concerned about what the new support coaches will bring to the new era Saints and how our forward line can evolve into a more balanced avenue to goal and and how we'll return to kicking more goals.
