doc gravely ill

ST KILDA'S only living premiership captain is gravely ill.

Darrel "Doc" Baldock, who led the Saints to their lone premiership win against Collingwood in 1966, is in a Launceston hospital after suffering a fourth stroke several weeks ago.

Former teammates Kevin "Cowboy" Neale and Ian Stewart have been in contact, but it is believed Baldock is having trouble recognising familiar faces.

I am so sorry to hear this.
I hope he is not in pain.
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

I wish it was possible to preserve for posterity every single member of the 66 premiership side. Unfortunately age catches up with us all.

The 66 team has done us proud being the only ones to achieve the ultimate for the club. Time we created some more heroes.

Please advise - extremely sad if we lose both heroes of the Club.

I was hoping a few of them were going to see something special happen in 2010. I knew we'd make the Granny, but just wasn't sure on the result. Close...but... sadly it might now be too late.

I hope they are comfortable. Thinking of them.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

As I said in a previous post, Darrell is not well at ALL.

There have been few tougher men to ever walk the earth than Doc, so if anyone is capable of pulling through this one, he is.

All our thoughts and prayers need to be with not only Doc but Marg, Lisa and Caroline through this awful time.

Terrible news. And the club isn't doing its part to help him through it. Another f***-up to drag the club he bled for through the mud. Well done boys. They ought to be sent down there to see him and look him in the eye.

Maybe they should all be sent down there. Seriously. If seeing him doesn't set them straight it's time to clear most of them out and start again.

suggestion only-
but if pople wish to send messages of support to Docand family- maybe use
Saints say
http://www.saints.com.au/saints%20say/t ... fault.aspx

or

Michael's Mailbox
http://www.saints.com.au/Michael's%20Ma ... fault.aspx

This has been a 15 or more year battle for Doc- did he not suffer a stroke during the time he was Caoching the saints?

all the best to him and his family and friends both at club and outside.

Agree,
at this point, some players are not worthy of being in docs presance

I love this club
