I hate this chick and what she's done to our club.

But as others have said, we were losing the PR battle. That's not good at any time, let alone when you're chasing a major sponsor.

I'm not privvy to all the facts; I was not at the Mediation. I have no choice bit to support the club in this whole ridiculous matter.

With the season fast approaching it looks like the club has either resolved the matter, albeit at a price, or placed itself in a good position to defend further attacks in the future by this individual.

To give the girl money after everything she has done to the club is wrong.

She is being rewarded by the club now. It sends a great PR message "Bring our club into disrepute and we'll give you free accomodation for a few months if you're mentally unstable. We're that nice." It is insane.

From my perspective the best thing to do would have been to sue her for damages. She is a complete nut job who feeds off attention. She is now being positively reinforced for her poor actions. Unbelievable.

The club has effectively distinguished the issue.

The club is 'helping' a person, who quite clearly needs it. By doibg so, they've removed the synpathy option that she was getting from many in the public.

She's had to once again publicly state that she lied previously about several things.


There were only ever 4 'issues' to this 'scandal'. They were...

That Gilbert hooked up with a child at a footy clinic.

That the club was nasty to her when her relationship ended with Gilbert.

That the players were naked in a group whilst a young girl took lewd photos of them (ie. the group sex angle).


The rest of it was just nonsense that no one cared about. The above were the angles that the press were chasing.


Through what happened yesterday, all 3 of the above have been sorted. It's been once again publicly confirmed that Gilbert didn't do what many wanted to believe he did.
The club is supported a 'troubled child' and helping her out.
And it's been once again confirmed that their was no 'sex scandal'.

Staying financial will be near impossible if we don't pick up a major sponsor.

While I am not sympathiser to the girl for her actions, I do believe she is in serious need of help.

Something major has happened to her for her to start acting in this manner. You only had to look at her now defunct facebook page. She was the normal typical teenager and then all of a sudden the pics and posts began to change to what we see today.

Good on the Club for offering assistance. I just hope it is actually used for good and doesn't turn around and bite us on the bum.

I find this hard to beleive but P66 and I agree, this in my opinion, is a good move by the club because it gives the impression to the publis that we are trying to help the girl.
It makes us appear to be the good guy, though yes we never we're the bad guy, but in the world of PR impressions are everything.
Interesting to read JB's comment's regarding her father, it just adds weight to what a troubled person this woman is.
Mind you what does annoy me about this whole story is that sadly this sort of thing happens every day. However, I can't see Derryn Hinch making headlines because average 21 year old Jowe Citizen down the road got a 16 year old school girl pregnant and dumped her.
