Yeah very disapointing however the OP is just doing what Kimi is doing and that is trying to get a minute in the spotlight. fail thread
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

You're an idiot.saintspremiers wrote:Firstly, Roo is my favourite player and will continue to be so in 2011 given how talented he is.
People from outside our club know he's a champion, but think he's a little soft.
I've always come to his defence on this issue, but the latest scandal showed he doesn't have the balls to be captain material IMO.
The sooking is not called for. He stuffed up by posing nude in front a team-mate.
There is no point in whinging when the laptop is stolen and pics go viral.
As Captain, you shouldn't compromise yourself in the first place.
Had Rooey copped it on the chin and admitted he ultimately was at fault, then he, in my opinion, would be doing the best he could given the circumstances.
But he didn't, he had a sook and showed an inability to say "I was wrong".
Now, I am the last one on this forum to go Nancy and all PC, but this not my point.
The only way out now for Roo is to help us win a flag, nothing else will restore his previous image.
Let him focus on pure footy, without the pressure of captaincy.
Perhaps BJ should be captain, given that Lenny has got himself in the media for the wrong reasons also.
Thoughts???

i have previously lobbied for BJ for skipper. But on this issue NO WAY JOSE.
All we found out in this storm in a teacup that roo has a knob.
BIG WHOOPS. Yes he has a knob! get over it. He should drop his dacks in round one (in winmar style) point to it in front of the crowd and say YES PEOPLE I HAVE A KNOB.
hes 100% done nothing wrong.

Presuming that he was lying is a bit rough, considering that there is plenty of evidence that he he is an honest upstanding individual, and that he has been subjected to what must be the most humiliating situation that he will most likely have to bear for the rest of his career, if not life.
There is no evidence that he has done anything wrong (apart from sleeping naked ) except for the word of a young "lady" which seems to be easily discredted by photo evidence. Not to mention that there are three people who were present that refute her statement.
So you can choose to believe this girl if you wish, but on weight of evidence I would say that would be a very foolish thing to do.
*Allegedly.

Firstly - no way in my opinion should Rooey step down over this. Not as big a deal as what it has been made out to be.
Secondly I partially agree with saintspremiers. Do we really believe everything that Roo said in his press conference? Are we that gullible? Let's get this straight, Roo sleeps naked - ok fair enough. Roo wakes up in the morning and Zac dawson wanders over with a handfull of condoms and holds them near Roo's penis with a big grin on his face. Roo by pure coincidence just happenns to be staring Gilberts way who just happens to be holding a camera. Both Roos hands just happen to be grasped around his pelvic region as if to enunciate his penis.
You're right - no way Roo was posing for a camera, he just happened to be photographed as he woke up in the morning. That, to me, is what Roo would have us believe anyway.
Obviously it was a joke for the boys - a childish one, but hey, they were on a footy trip and childish things happen. Roo IS guilty of something but not much. Guilty of trusting Gilbert. He may have posed for the photo, but no way should that photo EVER have been able to have been accessed by an unknown female. Gilbert stuffed up big time. I don't believe for a second either that this female 'stole' anything. Not in the sense that it's trying to be portrayed anyway. Gilbert has clearly shown her this photo in my opinion, and I reckon the kindest way of interpreting events from that point on is that he was negligent or reckless as to her access to his computer. In other words he knowingly left her alone with his laptop kowing that there were incriminating photographs on there.
I reckon Gilbert will be on shaky ground for a few weeks with everyone at the club, and I reckon he knows it. Luckily for him he is very much a required player, otherwise I reckon he would be discreetly exited out. Roo basically said as much at his presser, in that he inferred that Gilbert is too valuable a player to just crack the sh!ts with and freeze out. REmarkably this will test the players resolve in my opinion more than any other incident in the past 15 months - on or off the field. They will eventually be stronger for it, and they may even be able to laugh about it in a few months time - or the cracks will start to appear once we are inevitably put under some pressure once the season starts. Could well be the making of Gilbo or he could crumble. Will be very interesting I reckon.

Agree with nearly all you have said except I doubt Sam thought the girl was ever going to download the photos. I think she did take them illegally.Moods wrote:Firstly - no way in my opinion should Rooey step down over this. Not as big a deal as what it has been made out to be.

That's my point though plugger. She shouldn't have EVER have seen the photos in the first place. If she hadn't have seen the photo, she wouldn't have even thought to download it. And once he showed her the photo he should have been bloody careful with his laptop. His naivety is breathtaking. I agree that she would have taken them illegally, but I get the feeling that ppl believe that whilst on a sleepover at Sam's house, she was snooping around while Gilbert was out, found his laptop, discovered the photo's locked away in some secret file and she has copied them. I'm certain Gilbo would love us all to believe that. The grim look on Roo's face at the media conference when talking about Gilbert told me that he didn't buy that story either.plugger66 wrote:Agree with nearly all you have said except I doubt Sam thought the girl was ever going to download the photos. Can I ask why you are proud of the boys and the club over this incident?St Lenny wrote:Strongly disagree with anyone being sacked or loosing their positions because of this attention seeking juvenile. I don't blame Roo for defending himself and glad that he did.
