Surely this appointment puts the lie to the myth that the assistant coaches couldn't stand the head coach and couldn't wait to get out the door!

Would seem very unlikely since the club is actively advertising the position.SaintBot wrote:

Perhaps. The other possibility is that he has been moved to the vacant position of list manager, although this is unlikely. .

Advertisng the role means sweet FA if they are just going through a process.saintsRrising wrote:Would seem very unlikely since the club is actively advertising the position.SaintBot wrote:

Ok, can you explain then why Elshaug's role was not like advertised?SaintPav wrote:Advertisng the role means sweet FA if they are just going through a process.saintsRrising wrote:Would seem very unlikely since the club is actively advertising the position.SaintBot wrote:

Also have you actually read the job advert?
Peake would not meet those requirements. If it was written for him, they would match it to him.
They are after a legal eagle with contracts experience which is not Peake.

I read it. Big deal. I can't explain anything and either can you because you are not aware of all the facts and don't pretend to be because you are guessing. You have about as much idea of what's going on behind the scenes as I do which is ZILCHsaintsRrising wrote:Ok, can you explain then why Elshaug's role was not like advertised?SaintPav wrote:Advertisng the role means sweet FA if they are just going through a process.saintsRrising wrote:Would seem very unlikely since the club is actively advertising the position.SaintBot wrote:

I reckon we could do without a Recruiting Manager.
The List Manager only needs to wait until 2 weeks before the draft and then read all the articles by Emma Quayle, Paul Daffey, Ben Casanelia etc and then rank the players in a spreadsheet and it's all done. Then tell the Development coach to turn them into footballers.
Oh he should probably check to see that they have a photo on AFL.com

I am not pretending anything. I have expressed an opinion...and no where have I claimed inside knowledge.SaintPav wrote: I read it. Big deal. You have about as much idea of what's going on behind the scenes as I do which is ZILCH
But I can read and I can apply logic. ...and have explained my reasoning....
1/ Why would the club write a job advert where they obviously want a lawyer if their intent was to have already given it to someone with Peake's work history? Or indeed to give him the inside running. The ad does the reverse and would put Peake well down the queue if he did apply.
The advert radiates they want a lawyer.
I also note the references to the Tribunal, and that the club now wants us to have specialist to reresent the club in such matters. And thank god for that as our Tribunal representation of players has been slipshod and incompetent. From what I know of Peake he does not have the background for this either.
Baker for example merely had to stay mute, and should have...but instead admitted there was contact and dug his own grave.
2/ Other employees at the club, have just been appointed to different roles with no advertising. So again what you are suggesting would seem most unlikely.

That sounds like Ross Levene (?Vice-President) is the man for the job !!saintsRrising wrote:I am not pretending anything. I think that has been the problem...getting lawyers who are not specialists in the are to dabble in Tribunal Hearings.Eastern wrote:

So the new postion looks to bea step in the right direction to me.
