2011 PLAYER SPONSORSHIP
I have now received the list of player groupings from the Club
From last season the players we sponsored are classified as:-
STEVEN - core $1950
CLARKE - core $1950
STANLEY - core $1950
HEYNE - development $1450
WALSH - not categorized - must by an error in the brochure - let's assume development $1450
So if we repeat the 5 players the cost will be $8750, significantly more than the $7750 we paid in 2010
My suggestion is that we look at 5 new players from the 'development' group and maybe look to add a 6th player if funds are avaialable
Cost for 5 'development' players is $7250 (483 shares @$15)
Cost fror 4 development and 1 core is $7750 (516 shares)
Cost for 6 'development' players is $8700 (580 shares)
DEVELOPMENT LIST
SMITH
SIPOSS
CRIPPS
HEYNE
WINMAR
CAHILL
CROCKER
LEDGER
LYNCH
SIMPKIN
JOHNSON
WALSH?
plus any rookies we pick up.
OK, we need to reach the following consensus decisions:-
THe makeup of our players core/development
The actual players we want.

Agree on tne development players.
I suggest we have a week where everyone lists the five players from the group they'd like to sponsor. The players with the most votes get the nod.
Doesnt have to be 5,4,3,2,1 or anything....just five players.
Nice and democratic
Onya Mr M for getting the ball rolling as always

I personally would like to encourage people to vote for Siposs.
I'll tell you why... his family has really thrown themselves into getting to know Saints fans. His Mum and other family members have joined various Saints sites on Facebook, offered to meet fans, and so on...
I was just very impressed with the way the whole group has thrown themselves into the Saints.
Anyway, that's my two cents worth, and whoever we choose... I'm in.
Plus, I am very glad MM is doing this again. Good on ya, mate.

that would be because they are saints fans- if not members...markinUSA wrote:I personally would like to encourage people to vote for Siposs.

# -are posters happy to go more players as Standard sponsorship price?
#- any thought on less players but one premium?

Cripps and Ledger are a long way from home... it would be a nice show of support.

After following the story of Mr Magic, and what's gone on, it's good to see him back. I'm looking forward to getting involved for the first time this year...
Anyway, I'd go with:
Walsh - Saintsational's great white hope...
Simpkin - Like the way he goes about it
Siposs - Saints supporter, lets get behind him
Winmar - Hoping for a big year from him
Smith - I've heard a rumour that he could be playing round 1...
I'd also put a vote in for Rob Eddy if we pick him up in the rookie draft.

My thoughts;
Stanley (he is a big chance to play 12+ games)
Winmar (for sentimental reasons)
Sippos (Just because I like the sound of his name)
Walsh (us of Irish decent need to stick together)
1st Rookie selected (just because)

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Sounds good MM.
I'd like:
Stanley
Walsh
Sippos
Winmar
as our first four. I think we should look at numbers before committing to a fifth. And that gives us the opportunity to sponsor unsponsored players too,
