put seaford in the find box or "east road Seaford Vic"

and you will see the Saints new home
Just zoom in and you can see trucks at work from Mid Oct.
Well if the mossies from the swamp don't give them dengue fever, the emissions from the freeway will give them emphysema. Great place for an elite training facility.
Didnt you say a school was there. I reckon if they can have a school with kids in it then we can take a punt that the place is safe. BS can I ask why it worries you so much. It seems you are one of few on here that do go to training but I gather this year with so many closed sessions you only went a few times at the most this year. Surely 3 to 4 trips that are only 25 minutes longer will not hurt you afterall it seems that you have been there when there wasnt even training on.

peninsula link isn't built yet, is it? presumably that will be under construction when the boys are training! bj could get run over by a cement mixer!!! what about the construction noises while the boys are trying to meditate!!!!!

Great shot Moccha!! :D

The turf at Seaford is Kikuyu I believe rather than the Bent of Moorabbin.

Its carrum downs not seaford.

starting to look pretty good though. need some lights and some trees and it will be cool.

as long as the pool and gym are ready for summer.
i don have a simple question - aside running laps - where do the boys do their 3km time trials? along the freeway?

running around in circles on a baking oval all summer isnt the best training environment lets be honest.

No, it's Seaford 3198. Carrum Downs 3201 is the other side of the freeway and Boggy Creek right beside the oval.

Collingwood train next to the M1 tollway...and on the other side Swan Street isn't exactly devoid of cars...

Once built the Peninsula Link will be next to the training complex, but the Frankston freeway is hardly NEXT to the Belvedere Park complex

Take a drive there...it's actually a pleasant area....all those suburban things...houses...schools...bowling clubs...and some factories on one side...shock horror

Seems like some people were expecting views of the Sydney Opera House or watching herds of Wildebeest running majestically across the plains

The grass/turf at Moorabbin and Seaford are hybrid couch, virtually the same - gives a magnificent surface. Used on the best golf courses.
Wouldn't want to use kikuyu as it's broad leafed and you couldn't bounce a ball on it. Bent grass is a fine leafed grass used on putting greens, bowling greens - would be no good on an oval.

nice one GSG :)
I'm no greenskeeper but yeah the turf looks broader than moorabbin.
They were top dressing it today. the whole oval is now covered in sand.

Sweet. I've never flown one before, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same as those old simulator arcade games I used to play at Timezone.

Can you drop it off at my place tomorrow? I have a hot date and I'm positive she'll be impressed by this

OK but it's only a one seater so your girlfriend will have to straddle the joystick

I had a tour inside late last week and it's simply amazing
Compared to Moorabbin its light years ahead

Oval has a few dips here & there that they're fixing now
Grass cover was pretty lush and they're cutting it down over the next week

Interesting that all councils are having trouble with grass on ovals - its growing too fast with the heat & rain. After years of drought that's hard to imagine

As for travel it took me 30 mins from Moorabbin
I live near Camberwell and it took me 30 mins to get home on Eastlink / Monash to Burke Rd

As for a swamp nearby, couldn't see one
Freeway works have started down there - early days yet
My guess is when it get full on in the construction phase the boys will revert back to Moorabbin

Anyway hope this adds something positive to the debate
