Ledger pick 44 on AFL's phantom draft. Must be bloody good because we got him at 59
And what about Siposs pick 47 in the phantom draft and we got him at pick 75. Will probably win the brownlow on that drafting form Marto.

Don't know what phantom draft some people are looking at.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx

has

Jamie Cripps - 28
Sam Crocker - 48
Tom Ledger - 44
Arryn Siposs - 47

Would of thoght that would be as good as be expected for the picks we had

I don't think he's a brother to Jason but there are a million Cripps in the Northampton region, some of them are related to the Lockyers (as in Tarkyn) through marriage as well. Great bloodlines.

I've seen Jamie play a few times this year. It's always hard to tell how a player will actually go from being a WAFL player to AFL standard but he does have great skills, can run and break lines and is a very good set shot at goal for a backman. I think we have done well.

Over here in WA he was always backed as being a first round draft pick, I'm surrised he was still available for the Saints first pick.

Well Lyon is a big rap for Cripps anyway..

Said his various tests were elite... and believe that GC taking so many talls allowed good mids to slip lower.

Stated that he thought that he is quite likely to play some seniors next year.

Also stated that the Saints are restructuring their forward line.. Milne and Schneider to play high..Gamble close to goals...with Gilbert forward too.

Emma Quayle spends an enormous amount of time watching the under 18s (and we don't) She's actually a pretty good judge, based on previous years'assessments I've seen from her.

Her phantom draft was more accurate than hsun and afl imo. So she can't be too bad.

I would have preferred Harper or Darling, but just personal preference for xfactor up forward, obviously we got the best player we thought was available. Good luck to him he is now on an AFL list, it starts now - what he does is up to him and hopefully he will make it

Looks good... kicking was a bit iffy... not much penetration...

Loved his break through opponents through the middle..

Number 10 again... also my number - This could be a sign!

agree

great run

average kicking skills ... but these are just snippets

thought Crocker looks a better prospect ... just based on video

i like all of our picks ... especially Simpkin ... just hope Cripps can impove his kicking

Darling could be great. He was a bit of a crash /bash Hamill type. He may be suffering from the early grower problem, where you end up being not the biggest boy in town and the crashes begin to really hurt. He has been very good in the WAFL but not the standout as would be expected. I would have been very happy to see him in a Saints jumper, but I think the Cripps choice will be a better one.

Not often that Ross sounds that enthused, actually. He was certainly very positive about Cripps and was very unlike Ross in predicting he would play relatively early on next year.

Neville Stibbard (GWS Recruiting Manager) reckoned that he thought Cripps would have gone in the top 15. I take that opinion over any on here[/img]

Yeah I'll take that as well MadDog.

Can't see any reason for NS to unnecessarily talk the kid up.

Who other than Bigmart is surprised? (i.e. who that actually knows something about prospects, not having a go at Bigmart)

Everything I've read this morning seems to say he could easily have gone higher.
