Laurence Angwin for Rookie List
I was thinking I may have found the perfect mature aged rookie for the saints in 2011.
We are desperate for somone who can jimmy-open that premiership window just a little longer so our boys can clammer through it and steal some silverware. And who better or more experienced to assist with such an audacious burg?

Carlton again has pledged to stand by troubled ruckman Laurence Angwin after the 20-year-old was charged last week over the burglary of teammate Karl Norman's house.

i hate to say it but think it is a reasonable metaphor that explains that the present day AFL system is designed in a way that teams have a limited period at the top (and bottom) by way of draft and salary cap.SainterK wrote:I loathe the term 'premiership window'
Can't we have one of these?
It also explains why the saints formed a partnershp with Jeldwen - specialists in doors and window. If those buggers cant widen our window nooone can!

for some stupid reason i thought it was hilarious. id forgotten about big laurence breaking into his teammates house. it was a bit of a scandal at the time but after the drug scandals of recent years you are pretty sure they werent the only guys to be dabbling in the dark arts.Bernard Shakey wrote:You got excited. Lawrence Angwin?
Yeah right.
Remember we rejected Ben Cousins and at least he could play.
Angwin showed nothing in any of his sparse no of games.
Remember he "passed out" on his first Adelaide training run!
If you are going to go for him then you may as well bring back Stevie Lawrence. He had some mongrel in him and could play and is also now a good coach.

What's Joyce but a secondhand demotion.
Who needs Shaun Hart when you can have Sean Wellman?
