Any word on his resigning?

I know a lot don't see him in our best 22, but I rate him. Wouldn't want to see him walk.

Quite possible it's all done.

No offense to Farren but he probably doesn't warrant a media release. From all reports Armo has signed but once again it's not going to feature in the sports pages.

Still havnt got over him giving away that 50...

I don't think he will improve much going forward.

I disagree.
I thought his game in GF1 was fantastic.

I'm thinking he might prove a more than handy HFF.
Given his marking skills (exceptional for his height) I reckon he might make that elusive 3rd hiy-up target we're screaming out for?

Agree on GF1. His attack at the ball was something I had not seen from him before.

That's correct. He shut out Didak(?) on the last Saturday of September.

I think he's still a talented player. Hopefully he'll lift next season should he stay on at the club.

I thought it was Swan, in the 2nd half of GF1. I really rate him, well and truly in our best 22...Top 12 to 15 easily.

That's right. It was Swan, not Didak. Yeah, and we were praising RL for that move. Could have been a premiership winning coaching move. Damn and blast!

That 50 was very very very stupid.
The result might well have been different.

Did a good tagging job in the finals, but I thought he was recruited as a runner and link-up player, and I think his game got too defensive later in the season with RL's game plan, as was the case with McQ. I hope he gets back to being an attacking player rather than another stopper.

I disagree with your disagreement

A decent half does not equal a fantastic game

Further to that whilst Dane is a fantastic player IMO you unless you're a KP back, you need to be able to do more than shut an opponent down

Like Bartel on Hayes after qtr time in the 2009 GF?
That move alone kept us from building an unasailable lead, IMO.

Sometimes a purely negating role actually wins you the game.
Should we have just let Swan 'rack up' possessions?

Farren Ray has shown he has ability to hurt the opposition. In GF1 he was given a task to stop Swan. He sacrificed his normal game for the benefit of the team.

Why did teams start playing defensive forwards on Sam Fisher and Sam Gilbert - a purely negating role. Surely it's becasue they recognized that limiting their effectiveness was a positive for themselves?

Yes it would be even better if the negater was able to do positive things as well, but sometimes they don't have the opportunity to do that. Their primary focus is on curtailing/stopping the opposition's best player(s).

I disagree with your disagreement of my disagreement. :)

farren is a good footballer. I cant believe people want to criticise him. Either you have poor memories or you dont go to games. He played awesome in the prelim then shut down swan (who had been murdering us in the clearances until half time) in GF 1.

He is is also 24. An age category where we basically have no players at all. So I personally see him as vital and he should be in the leadership group. Before you scoff rememeber Mini was in the LG in 2010.

If you dont think hes in our first 22 you are must have been having some real fantasies about some other blokes on our list because he is better than several blokes we have running around right now.

im pretty sure social club members can buy a ticket to the b & f. You dont have to be a "celebrity". If u had to be a celebrity to go then it would be a pretty empty room if eric bana couldnt make it.

mingling is available. the bubble thing is simply a metaphor you know. there is no actual bubble.

(unless there is a bird flu epidemic) in which case players remain in an artifical bubble.
