Maybe I'm easily pleased, but it all seems great inside, and the building itself looks modern with a suitable colour scheme.

While most may not be happy with the location, it will be good for our players to have a state of the art facility, it's long overdue.

Can't really tell the state of the oval by the video?

A lot of building projects across Melbourne are running behind schedule at the moment, mainly due to the weather. On pretty much any site that is unionised...it rains...it stops.

The sooner we get in there the better.

Compare Moorabbin with the freaking Westpac centre....

No wonder we lost the GF....

Not sure how much you can glean from the facility by looking at that video other than, as you say, the paint matching our uniforms.

I guess the boys will be able to work on their 17-foot jump shots which is nice.

Is it true that North Melbourne spent more on their facility than we did?

The Roos got a community centre kind of thing to help integrate migrants and afl money as did the bulldogs. We didn't get the same grants.

Still I can envisage the linen house oval in 3 month with tags sprawled all over the outside and a couple stripped cars in the car park. Nooice.

Seriously though, it looks that much more professional it's a shame we couldn't do it at Moorabbin. I'm too lazy to watch training there.

Hey bigred, on unionised sites, do they actually do any work between rain days/heat days off/30 odd RDO's per year??

When will someone break these building unions like how Corrigan broke the waterfront dispute?

They must be the most overpaid/underworked people in this country.

I currently organise graffiti removal in the Frankston Council area - it will be kept schmick if I have any say in it!

It'll need a bigger carpark as has been suggested by SainterK and others.
It also needs a security fence.
The good thing is that while the set-up at this stage is fairly basic if we keep playing in GFs it will give us enough money to build extensions.
Eventually (in 3-4 years time) it will be the best facility in the AFL.
Land-clearing for Peninsula Link has been taking place.

As long as we have all the necessities to get the best possible recovery and clubs like Collingwood and Carlton don't get too much of an advantage (it's clearly some advantage having what they have) then I guess we'll be ok.

I've read on here that, cost of the land aside, our facility itself will be the cheapest of all the new training centres.

let me explain a few things to you because clearly you have no fuking idea of anything outside carlton.

1. visy is a d-u-m-p. the grandstands are a throwback to a bygone era. in terms of the whole complex it is bound by heritage listing. visy will not ever be an elite facility.

2. westpac was built in the 50s and the cracks show. they dont own westpac or vic park. olympic park is between gosches and westpac. in terms of the olympic development it would put them in a good position but as i said they dont own westpac.
