I'm a bit nervous about this one actually, normally I'm cool.
Not knocking Paul Hudson good experience etc, hard at it, however.

He's working with a new group and in a different environment that will also be a new environment for our developing players aswell.

Let's assume that Rhys is heavily under the influence of the Skipper.
Assume though, that Huddo has to get to know the rest of the young fellas personally and professionally.
Let's assume then that Huddo may have an ego and wants to be a Development Manager/Boss at Seaford.
Does anyone see how this could be potentially problematic for our younger fellas?

I'm only speaking from experience here.
When you're young and up-and-coming and you move into a brand new work area and you're keen, but some new guy comes along and he wants to be your BOSS and you don't even know him but you have to pretend to like him because your job is alright.

Worst case scenario he's a real prick and some of the younger fellas don't really like him therefor their development is questioned to a certain degree.

Hudson's position IMHO could be potentially problematic if he attempts at any stage to politicise things. Just hoping that he leaves any ego at the door when he walks through the halls of Seaford. I suspect though that that may not be the case.

Like it or leave it, the young fellas have been doing whatever they like at Moorabbin and now at Seaford they have a Boss that they have to get along with. They now have to do what they are told. Sure, they have a nice gymnasium and a pool and whatever but the Boss is an A**hole...?

How about upside? Getting some Collingwood IP interest you? They did the IP on us with Max & Ball...

Well as far as I can see this is our primary football department for next year:

Senior Coach: Ross Lyon
Football Manager: Greg Hutchison
Assist Coach (Backline): Peter Berbakov
Assist Coach (Midfield): Robert Harvey
Assist Coach (Forwardline): Adam Kingsley
Assist Coach (Rucks): Steven King
Development Manager: Paul Hudson
Development Coach: Danny Sexton
Development Coach: Brian Royal
Development Coach/Opposition Analysis: Danny Ryan
Fitness Manager: David Misson
VFL Coach (Sandringham): Brett Lovett

That's assuming Royal returns to his development role, Sexton has been retained (and thus, Hudson has replaced Lovell) and that Kingsley is assuming the forward line duties.

Outs:
List Manager: Matthew Drain (Focusing on career outside football)
Assist Coach (Backline): Stephen Silvagni (GWS?)
Assist Coach (Midfield): Tony Elshaug (Retired?)
Assist Coach (Forwardline): Leigh Tudor (Sydney)
VFL/Development Coach: Andy Lovell (Gold Coast)

Agree. This could be very valuable. Also the fact that he was working with the younger players and they have had much success with these younger players.

Getting Tudor from Geelong certainly made a difference (Ross has said this publicly on numerous occasions). Hopefully getting Hudson from the Pies can have a similar effect.

We've had Tudor poached from us too.

It's swings and roundabouts with the assistant coaches

That means we have lost King and Pattison from our ruck stocks in one year, without any replacement.

Also, Gardiner is one year older (and one year slower) and Mcgrath (a ruckman) is delisted.

Perhaps this foreshadows the end of our two traditional ruckmen setup.

Gardi Mcevoy Kosi Stanley (and Blake) will share the load I assume.
you can't really have 2 ruckman playing in the one game with only 3 interchange and a substitute

NO
not published yet and I go from fact.......

but would agree with some of saintbot's supposition

extra development coach to maybe assist with the Sandringham alignement given Brett Lovett is part time and not directly connected to the saints and possibly leading to something alluded to by Michael N a couple of times in recent months.

who said JB had retired?
was still working last I was there... and has been an advisor for a couple of years now-- saints may be listed as what was it 4th least in recruitment spending- But personally I have confidence that the club is adding staff " as they are financially able to' and not bankrupting the future by over reaching in any area.
they funded the football department- sustained success is occuring
they have then gradually been increasing staffing in other areas- including sponsorship, corporate, member services, merchandise...

now the move to Linen House Centre..

Chill dude. You are making a lot of assumptions there. How do you leave your house every day without having an anxiety attack? Seriously, we have played in the last three GF and not won any of them so how worse could things get?

Reckon the pies could be in trouble what with all these assistants leaving. Brown and Hudson, somethings rotten in the state of Collingwood.

Kingsley has been Port defensive coach...any specific reason you say fwd coach...Has it been mentioned anywhere?

chicago saint- the same could be said for any assistant coach- they are looking for their own niche.

but why that feeling on just one of the new coaches
of those coming in as already stated-
1 has worked with current premiership team- and past coaching champions.
1 has worked with previous premiership coach and another AFL coach,
1 has strong strength and conditioning background and worked with premiership team
1 is 300 game legend with a strong feeling for our club and renowned training experience
1 is current with the team and recent training methods, has the connection with the development group at the club.

would seem to be a fairly well rounded group...

I'll take the IP but it's not really that great.
The boys just need to learn that Collingwood aren't born tacklers and that the grab-arm tactics are just that, grab-arms.
FFS! the most frustrating thing about GF 2.0 was that our boys didn't take them on and break out.

A lot of assumptions yes but how do we know he's not a double-agent?

saintnick12 it's a good point. If there was one thing LT did it was show Kosi how to kick and ensure that he didn't turn into a yip merchant.

.... will now post on the hudson thread
