Yes, the history books will record Collingwood as premiers for 2010 and that is all any side is after.

However, when looking towards the future, there is a big difference between being close and being nowhere near it.

We are a quality unit and despite the press' 5th annual closing of our premiership window, it is still open.

This club is 40-9-2 in their last 51 games, ofcourse we will need to find some improvement next year, but now isn't the time for sinking the ship and moving on.

You don't win premierships by running away, crying and yelling the "sky is falling in" everytime you hit a hurdle.

Sometimes when you are close, just a little readjustment and a lot of faith is all you need!

Go Saints!!!!!
Correct.

And of course if you make it through to the last day it's down to a two horse race and you know the other horse is going to be a fairly handy galloper.

Therefore no matter how well you've planned, how well you've prepared and how well you've played, you're going to need a little bit of luck to go your way!

Couldn't we give it a shot?

Im holding back my criticism...FOR NOW!

Ill let loose with fury if we just put the blinkers on and go around with the same ole crap next year!

We MUST find a way to score more, we MUST play our kids and develop them and I dont mean a couple of games each!

If we change nothing or very little, then THAT will deserve almighty criticism!!

Generally I try to avoid the extreme threads - either rah rah support, or sky is falling negativity.

But this thread is a warm blanket on a rainy day at the moment. Never have I witnessed quite such a common level of mistaking "knee jerk reaction" for "tough call".

One thing we've all come to understand in the last couple of years is that the thing that stinks more than last place is 2nd place... but from here it's far easier to go backwards than it is to take that final step.

The interesting - and hopeful - thing I'm seeing from St Kilda Football Club is that there does NOT appear to be a knee jerk reaction, but a conservative approach to attempt to ensure any move made is progress.

I think it's the passion and the commitment.

We know they aren't perfect, but they are giving it everything.

As long as Roo, Lenny and BJ are there, we will always be extrememly professional.
