He was keen on Josh because of the Collingwood connection I think?

They are actually putting together quite a decent team, especially given reports their kids have a lot of talent.

Injury free, it's a mid-table team in 2011.

If injuries strike, they'll struggle. For a few years anyway.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Their kids aren't gonna get a look in for 2-3 years, the way they're going! Their backline reads like and AA 'B' team.

Of course, you live up there yeah...so a bit of quality, just not much depth then.

Heaps of Melbourne teams in a simialr position I guess....

The young guys to watch who are of the standard already are Dixon (key fwd), Smith (ruck), Swallow (mid - super gun), Matera (small fwd/mid), Weller (mid), McKenzie (wing), Alik Magin (small fwd), Jack Hutchins (back). They are all very good players. I reckon all but Hutchins would get a run with us next year. McKenzie would be an ideal fit!! 6'3" fast as and kick like a mule.

There's an older defender out of the SAFL called Michael Coad who would get a game anywhere. Harris, Iles and Stanley have all proven at various that they can play at the level required.

Hunt could be anything.

Then there's the uncontracted guys.

But if the older guys fall down, the young back ups will get stomped.

Why?

1/ Suns recruiting guy is Clayton who was at the Dogs when Ray was.

2/ The players that they have taken are all guys that you know can play first 22 and are established. Armo is not established.
I have been posting on here for 6 weeks reaising the alarm/saying i was worried about ray. 99% of posters completely ignored me and started banging on about armo who for some unknown reason is an obsession of saintsational.

ray is a good young player. i will be genuinely concerned/upset if we lose him.

If Ray is happy to move to his third club in a matter of years, maybe he isn't genuinely concerned/upset?

dont assume anything.

I am worried about one of CJ or Faz... Real worried.

If armo did stay hed have plenty of opportunities in a post len-dog decade.

So what is he supposed to do in the meantime? just hang out and watch his career dwindle away until he possibly gets a call up or Lenny retires. What a joke.
He needs to do one of two things.
1. Work harder to get in the team for next year, or
2. Leave and join another team or subject himself to possible and short career.

It's as simple as that.

again my opinion., so no reading between the lines you conspiracy theorists.
i didnt literally mean he should/would only get opportunities when lenny retired. it was just a general comment saying that saints have less good midfielders than we need and thatd be good if we managed to keep cj/armo/faz because they are all youngish and all good.

i have been posting that the coach has been too focussed on so-called "defensive" players and a "defensive mindsight" (you know who im talking about) at the expensive of more attacking minded players )like armo) and that the coach should alter this balance a few notches toward attack.

Leigh Fisher is uncontracted and was earmarked for the Suns from last year.

Absolutely deadset complete and utter unequivocal bulls***.
