Where was this type of reporting when Lovett was accused??
or Milne and Montagna??
or even Fevola over the indecent exposure claims...

Were they all named first by the herald Sun and were they all named within 48 hours. I think we need to remember the story before we say they are showing bias.henno wrote:Regarding the latest pies scandal...

To be honest i couldnt give a stuff because I dont beleive in the conspirancy theory and even if true I couldnt give a stuff. I will leave for other who think the pies get only positive news.derby Street wrote:plugger66 wrote:Were they all named first by the herald Sun and were they all named within 48 hours. Heres a start - Lovett - alleged incident 23/12/09 - named by the Herald Sun Dec 24th 09 (Aaron Langmaid)
To me it doesn't seem fair that Lovett was named almost immediately - yet H.S choose not to name the Collingwood players.
Both Lovett Pies were still not charged at the time the story broke.
Should I check the others as well to see if the H.S named them almost immediately ?
Well to be honest it wasnt actually pointed out. Lovett was named in the herald sun within 48 hours but really what is more important, was that the first outlet he was named in or was it common knowledge because he was named elsewhere.Thinline wrote:So you happily pot the people who suggest unfair or unbalanced reporting and when an example's pointed out in black and white you're not interested in the issue.
Right.
That's irrelevant. As below....plugger66 wrote:was that the first outlet he was named in or was it common knowledge because he was named elsewhere.
They could have chosen not to name the player back then too.The Herald Sun has chosen not to name the players at this stage.
It is very relevent because if it was common knowledge they would have named them. They did exactly the same with Milne and Joey but we just dont want to believe that.Liam_G wrote:That's irrelevant. There are plenty. Not everyone visits footy sites. None of my mates i have spoken to have any idea.saintsRrising wrote:Why the 'if'?plugger66 wrote:

Is there anyone that does not know who the two are?
Conspiracy theory wasn't an issue with me - I just wanted balanced reporting. I accept St Stevens explanation. Perhaps because of the complexity and seriousness of the charges the accusers won't be named until the prosecution investigation is completed.StSteven wrote:There is no conspiracy. It was explained today on :3aw. Milne, montagna and Lovett were named by their accusers in the procedure. The names of the Collingwood players have not so the media cannot state who was there until police name names.......or something technical along those lines.
Interesting to know if the two, who are well known, left for USA with the rest of the team.
So are you saying that the alleged victim made a complaint to the police that she had been sexually assulted,StSteven wrote:There is no conspiracy. It was explained today on :3aw. My jaw dropped when I read this. And yet I'm so not surprised.SainterK wrote:I watched the live chat with Robbo today, someone asked why the Herald Sun was happy to name Fev in his latest scandal, but not the Collingwood players...given both are simpy allegations at this point.
He simply said "don't know"
I am not comprehending the difference myself...
Who was the paper that named them then? its in the other thread was it not?plugger66 wrote:There are plenty. Not everyone visits footy sites. None of my mates i have spoken to have any idea.saintsRrising wrote:Why the 'if'?plugger66 wrote:

Is Robyn getting involved with her social blog???Badlands wrote:Interesting (but hardly surprising) that the whole story has already disappeared from the HS website.
No full page interactive slideshows of historical events like we got when the pregnant schoolgirl non-story broke. They ran that story front and centre with our logo for over a week.
So who is this "common knowledge" police? Is there a board that sits daily and lets everybody know what is and what isn't "common knowledge" so media can report so?plugger66 wrote:It is very relevent because if it was common knowledge they would have named them.
I actually thougt the same thing! It's an Eddie-block!henno wrote:Regarding the latest pies scandal...
