MRP - Schneider gets 2 week suspension

Post: # 1009649Post Liam_G »

In Summary, 450 points and four-week ban down to 295.31 and two-week ban due to good record and early plea (if accepted, of course). Obviously will then have 95.31 hanging over his head.

Adam Schneider, St Kilda, has been charged with a Level Three striking offence against Brent Macaffer, Collingwood, during the third quarter of the 2010 Grand Final Replay, played at the MCG on Saturday October 2, 2010.
In summary, due to the double demerit points for any offence committed in Saturday’s game, he can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea.
The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. The Grand Final Replay draws a 100 per cent loading on the base points for the offence, increasing the penalty to 450 demerit points and a four-match sanction. He has a five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 393.75 points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 295.31 points and a two-match sanction.

Other incidents assessed:
Contact between Collingwood’s Travis Cloke and St Kilda’s Zac Dawson from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Due to the inconclusive nature of the available footage, it could not be determined if a reportable incident had occurred. No further action was taken.

Contact between St Kilda’s Lenny Hayes and Collingwood’s Alan Didak from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said contact was made to the upper arm of player Didak. Taking into account all available footage, the contact to the arm was considered below that required to constitute a reportable offence. Hayes then immediately swung his left arm at player Didak, and did not make any contact, but his hand was open at all times and this action was not considered to be a striking motion. No further action was taken.

Contact between St Kilda’s Lenny Hayes and Collingwood’s Dane Swan from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel examined all available footage and also received a medical report on player Swan, which stated he had received no injury. Taking into account all the available evidence, it was determined that the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence and no further action was required.

Maybe he can spend those two weeks attempting to get fit. See how that goes.

MRP provides the cherry on top. Not seen the incident, but out of 2 grand finals this is all they found?

The sooner the MRP is overhauled the better. It is a serious joke!

So you would have been happier if BJ was found guilty in the first game? And you havent even seen it.

Come in spinner.

Nope, would not have been happy with it if BJ had gone, but am surprised out of all that, the 2 grand finals, there is only one charge...

But you know what Plugger, I couldn't actually give a crap in the end...and the last thing I can be bothered doing is discussing it with you...

You come across as such a nice person. Just one question, do you have a friend in the world or do you look in the mirror for a good conversation?

Here's what it means...

Schneider hasn't been as fit as he could be for the three years that he has been at St Kilda. The first two years his guts hung over his shorts. The sort of bloke who has to stand up in court and give evidence after having had 27 drinks.

He has played in three grand finals. And been no good in three grand finals.

Sydney had to let him go because of salary cap pressure so he doesn't have to rely on Robert eddy to buy him KFC.

St Kilda gave up pick 26 for him.

In a salary capped competition Adam Schneider is a fair part of the reason that collingwood supporters are enjoying a premiership.

Does that make it any clearer?

Schneider was in blistering form for the second half of this year. He then has a collision with Roo against Richmond which clearly hurt him and was obviously struggling with fitness for the rest of the year.
But don't let any of that get in the way of a good story will you!

So you are saying that Schneider was injured to the point where he couldn't perform to his optimal level in round 21 - 21/08/2010.

It makes you wonder why he only missed one week before playing finals with such a serious injury.

He couldn't even run after he collided with Roo in round 21.

He had round 22 off and came back in the finals because he is in our best 22.
Watch the last quarter of GF1 and tell me he was bad. He was excellent in that quarter.

Grand finals are four quarter games.

If I concede he was good in one grand final quarter will you accept he has been ordinary in eleven grand final quarters for St Kilda?

And I'm tipping that I've watched more seasons than you've been alive.

Last years GF he was the only Saints player to kick multiple goals. Didn't have a great game but was far from our worst.

And GF2 he had 19 disposals and 4 tackles again servicable but not as bad as you're making out.

Maybe you should've watched some of his games before he got hurt!

I watch every game. My issue is with his three year performance and (what I assume is) his fairly significant allocation of our salary cap.

Don't worry, he's not as culpable as some IMO. (the coaching staff being ultimately responsible)

While collingwood have spread their salary cap evenly across the whole list we have stuck with marquee players and 'role players' - the ordinary cattle.

Malthouse has just won a flag with Cloke at CHF - the hardest and most important position on the field. We have failed to win three grand finals in two years with Riewoldt. And Dal Santo. And Milne. And Schneider. The list of three time non-performers is too long.

RL has a great advantage here. Malthouse has to wait eight years (02,03,10) to confirm that L Davis cannot stand up when the drums are banging. RL has got to see a lot of our players in three GFs in two years.

The 2009 trade period doesn't have to be a mill stone around the clubs neck. While we made a massive error, that error has freed up the money to re-sign our best players. That means we have continuity and the players have trade value.

RL can re-load for 2011.

Do you have any opinions on whether our top paid players should perform in the matches that mean the most to us?

You keep your personal life to yourself and I'll keep mine to mine.

If you are claiming that Schneider has been in tip-top condition, especially in his first two seasons with St Kilda, then you need to get out more.

He did.

Don't they generally get paid what their value is to the Club?
Obviously Schneider is on what the CLub thinks he is worth - whatever that is?
Do you know how much, I don'. I don't think I've ever seen it made public.

What about BJ?
What about Lenny?
WHat about Roo?
What about Dal,
How about the 100-150k that Zac is getting? SHould he get more/less?

The Club obviously decided that Luke Ball wasn't worth the 500-600 he wanted adn wouldn't budge over the 350k they offered.
Now they're being castigated on here for not offering him enough and showing through his salary offer how much they 'really' wanted him.

You make the statements about his 'large' slary but what are the facts?
Maybe he's earning less than whta he should be on?

And btw, we got him + Dempster for pick 26.

IMO, he's not the reason (sole or major) we lost last Saturday.
I'm not sure why you've taken such a negative view of him, above all others?
