" A bouncing ball"
I hope I am not doubling up on another post by referring to Martin Blake in today's Age.
He said St Kilda was probably only a bouncing ball away from a Grand Final win. How agonisingly true! I guess Milney will have nightmares about it for the rest of his life-- I know I will.
And the Filth can thank another hideous bounce for their win over the Cats in the Prelim Final,

We need to get over the bouncing ball of GF1.ralphsmith wrote:A bouncing ball from two grand final wins.
If that ball had bounced differently against the cats last year in the dieing seconds, instead of scarlett poking it on.
Yeah it could have bounced up for Milney and we could have been 5 points up.
How much time left?
Ball back to the centre. Who's to say it wouldn't gone forward for the Pies and some clown like Cloke or Davis snags one out of his you know what? I mean we'd already taken the lead with BJ's goal before the previously unsighted Dawes handballed to the erratic Cloke to put them back in front. Imagine losing to that mob by 1 point!
Bottom line is that there is no way of knowing whether or not a Milne goal would have won us the game.

True, but they had only scored 2 goals for the half. I would have rolled the dice and gone for that.Dr Spaceman wrote:We need to get over the bouncing ball of GF1.ralphsmith wrote:A bouncing ball from two grand final wins.
