Never return Max.

Post: # 1008347Post oneteam »

smiling and laughing with buckley on tv after we were beaten. Never come back Max.

at least Ball showed some respect and history with the club to have a solemn face and shake our guys hands.
not for max. doesn't have the quality as a person to separate his job with collingwood and satisfaction of a job well done , from seeing his former teamates suffering and having no reespect. A true collingwood man now.
If I won a tender against my old company , i am happy , but 18 years there makes me remember to respect hem and show respect and be a good winner. max showed a massive lack of class.

I have deliberately not watched any media.
If this is true then I am disappointed in Max.
Sure he is a paid employee and to a certain extent this is reward for a job well done.
But I think he really should have been more respectful towards the club that made him.

I jumped off him when Malthouse said Ball had been handy but Max was like having an insight. Now just another piece of crap in Black and White.

He can come back this year with collingwoods game plan and redeem himself or get f$#@ed.

Try to put yourself in his shoes. How would you expect him to feel? Apart from anything else, he's finally found out what it feels like to be part of a premiership win after many years of heartbreak. Of course he'd be smiling and laughing.

And, after what happened to him at the end of last year, should he be expected to feel much sympathy for the club? Keep it real.

BTW, I thought Ball's behaviour and comments yesterday was very interesting. He gave me the firm impression that he was still a reluctant Pie and that, in his innermost heart, there was still a tinge of red in his black and white. Perhaps I'm wrong, and he did only leave us for the $$$, but he sure as he'll didn't give off that aura yesterday. More of an "oops, you dumped me over here and, I couldn't help it, I've ended up helping to rob you of a premiership".

Think you are all being way too hard on Max. He still went to Saints Games this year with his family decked out in Saints gear, he was emotional and thrilled to go around in the car for his lap of honour earlier this year where once again his kids are decked out in the Saints colours.

He could have been laughing at almost anything with Buckley at that particular point in time. It would not have been 'ha, ha, St Kilda lost the Premiership'. To not welcome him back to this club when the time is right is juvenile and childish. This is the same player that at the B&F last year made pointed remarks to Ball during his speech about how special it is to be a one team player.

He was paid to do a job at Collingwood and he did it. End of story. Same as Robert Harvey. Had Carlton made it to a GF and won the flag against us, would you have demanded that he never return to our club?

Max will be back and as a St Kilda supporter I cannot wait for the day it happens. Next year would be good. :P

Just for once I'd love to see a post from you that was supportive of the Club.

The selection committee (headed by Lyon) decided not to play Max last year in the GF.
Just like the selection committee at Collingwood (including input from Max) decided not to play Presti in almost identical circumstances - injury risk long time champion versus youngster who ahs been doing the job.

Didnt deserve to be in the Grand Final team last year and was rightfully left out. Sold us out to the Pies and helped defeat us for a premiership.

He is now filth, always and forever and would not want him back at our club.

Keep it real.
Absolutely right MB Max did what he had to do as a person looking for employment and Ball as well given they are looking after their best interests.

Unfortunately the reality also exists that if you leave your club to help another to a flag then you will be for ever a traitor in the eyes of their supporters. Neither Max nor Ball will ever be welcome back by the club and supporters (perhaps they'll keep friends with some players). I don't know them personally but it seems that they've moved on and St.Kilda is no longer any part of their life so why would they want to come back.

Max will go down in history as the sook after the bulldogs game and a hasbeen by the time St.Kilda were ready for a tlit at the flag - harsh but reality.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Max has his own company not even really that involved in footy. His role I believe was offered by Malthouse for his valuable IP.

Ball was on the sunday footy show this morning and he was still obviously not wanting to look too gloating but you could see he didn't really give as much of a f$## without his old team mates to pull his head back in.

Ball is a traitor and not much more now. Unless the Pies realise he is not worth losing their good young players for, he is their bag of s*** for ever now.

That's a tad harsh, MM. I actually think that leaving Max out of the '09 finals team was a reasonable call. But, reasonable or not, you can't expect him to have been delighted about it. And I suspect the sight of a clearly underdone Bakes waltzing back in for just the GF might have rubbed salt into Max's wounds.

Things turn out this way sometimes. Not a reason for anyone to criticise Max or the club.

Both Max and Ball helped Collingwood gut us!
However, this is their job and they both did it well - we could easily have kept both with the right incentives.
Both should be welcomed back like Harves if they are given the opportunity.
It is a absurd to badger them when all they did was take the best opportunity available - like all of us would do in our jobs! Who would NOT move to another employer if they made a (much) better offer?

This thread staggers me. I've read some BS on here from some pretty disgruntled supporters in the last 24hrs, but I think this takes the cake.

I'd suggest that plenty of people need to GROW UP!

I'm not criticizing Max at all. He made a choice to accept the role at Collingwood.
He never publicly bagged the CLub, Coach or players.
But I'm sure he's astute enough to know that the jpb offer came with the 'strings attached' of giving up our 'defensive secrets'

Just like the job offer by us to Leigh Tudor when we convinced him to come acroos from Geelong.

My only issue in all of this remains as it was from the beginning - the pathological need for Ball's 'camp' to portray his decision to join the Filth as anything but money driven, and to denigrate our CLub, Coach (and subsequently our Captain) in the process.

You may think that's fine, I don't, and never will. And I'll publicly support my CLub over it.
IMHO he owes our Club and Coach an apology - as public as the criticism was.
But I'm not naive enough to believe that there will be one forthcoming, even from someone with the 'character' of Luke Ball.

For me its as simple as, if you don't play or are affiliated with st.kilda and you work for another club i couldn't give a sh!t about you, so that applies for Max and Ball

The reality for supporters is that it is not a job but a passion, St.Kilda FC for those that love it is love of life. Everyone has choices in life - these guys aren't supporters they are as you say "professionals" and as such will be judged by the ones that treat it as a love - fairly or unfairly. They went to Collingwood and assisted them in defeating St.Kilda and they should be categoriesed as the enemy again fairly or unfairly. Whether they return to the club in body or not is irrelevant they will always be philosophically at least unwelcome.

You dont speak for me you bubble headed moron....what a joke of a post.

Max played his guts out for our Club for years....he bled red white & black ....what have you done thats better hero?

You wouldnt know the meaning of respect...or understand how he now 'works' for Collingwood.

His former teammates were suffering because they were too dumb to win the game...and thats got nothing to do with Max!
