Trade Week

Post: # 1007097Post lennyandkarl »

We don't have the time we had last year to get over the loss. Trade week starts in 36 hours. Who should we look to ship out? What should we look to bring in?

I thought McEvoy was good today but he might need some support from an experienced ruckman. Where else are we falling down?

The ruck situation depends if Gardi's definitely retiring or not.

A credible half-forward flanker - though I like the idea of Gilbert moving there next year.

A 3rd forward, still think Adreas Everitt could be handy if we can get him relatively cheap.
Also need leg speed, and not the kind that's good for running away from the law.
However, I'm not sure about Tambling, fast, but a bit soft.

I think Raph & Gilbo are similar defenders....

Whack Raph back on a HBF and Gilbo to a HFF/3rd tall and there's no need to get Andrejs, who can barely get a game at the doggies.

On our shopping list should be...

Andrejs Everitt
Richard Tambling
John Anthony
Nathan Djekurra

ie some speed and another marking forward.

Plenty of trade bait to offer after todays performance!

This works very well, actually.

You should have a word to Ross.

Josh Anthony??? He is hopeless! The guy can't mark unless he's on his own. Rhys Stanley has heaps more upside.

A kicking coach would have been handy this year.

Does such a thing exist? If not, it should.

It does for goal kicking, but I've never heard of a field kicking coach....Should we offer Mcleod the job?

I dont think we should be bringing in (trading for) any new players. We should concentrate in getting more games for Stanley, Steven, Miles, Armitage, Walsh, Simpkin, A.Smith, and maybe Winmar and Lynch. Anyone else?

Lynch will be a player, as will Stanley, The Dribbler and Walsh. Miles, Steven and Winmar look promising. Hopefully Gaertner can take a ruck role.

If Jack Anthony gets to StKilda…

well…

I'm emotional from the game but…

how does the gold coast song go?

There is more chance Gary Ablett will be playing for us next year than Sam Day, but we can still dream!
