Yeah, we need running outside midfielders, to pump it inside 50battye wrote:I don't think trading for another forward will help, the problem lies in the delivery. We need to find another forward, badly, we simply do not kick enough goals.
Someone like Satnley, Lynch or someone has to step up next year, or we need to trade to get a third forward.
As I mentioned in another thread, if we can expand the number of forward fifty entries per match in the same way we did to the tackle count a few years ago... that's going to help tremendously.

OP is a joke!!!
"... You want to pose a threat to the opposition in as many ways as you can, both defensively and offensively. We've got a responsibility to explore all those possibilities - and we will."
If you look at the stats and the forward 50 entries we had, i doubt we would of won with plugger, Ablett, Dunstall, Rooey and Lloyd today. Forwards need delivery and today they didn't get itRalphy wrote:Riewoldt today was pathetic. dont care who cracks it at me, but it was

we neeed a decent full foward
Midfield was our issue.
Peake, Ray, Jones... these guys did nothing.
If you can't win a centre clearance, you might as we'll not play.
If fact, Jones didn't even do his job, to tag the Collingwood player out of the game.
Add to Eddy doing nothing, McQualter can't hold a tackle.
Least the defenders held up fairly well.
We just had the worst midfield today.
I expect Geary and Armo (if/hope he stays) to be regulars in the midfield next year.
And J.Gram is over-rated.

Gram is clearly injured and should not have played, I think the fact that he was our best in last years granny says that he can perform on the big stage.
How many of our forwards do you think an opposition side would really worry about - maybe 3? Riewoldt, Milne, Schneider
That gives their backmen a pretty good chance at quelling at 2:1.
The defensive forward role is completely redundant when the ball doesn't enter the 50. Our ability to attack and score is by far the worst in the 8, thank god for a good backline structure.
Lenny & BJ have hearts bigger than phar lap and they nearly got us over the line last week, but we can't rely on this to get us a flag.

i think he did it in the first quarter in that contest with harry o.still cannoned into contests when the opportunity arose. and thats what he is in the team to do. i rate eddy and i think he could be our next lenny hayes. once he plays a few more games and gets his awareness and decision making up i think he will prove to be a very handy playersSainterK wrote:Just turned on the radio and caught Ross Lyon saying that Eddy broke his arm today, perhaps people should hold fire just a little.

McQualter - just doesn't know what to do with it, the very few times he gets it!!
Peale- just a waste of a draft choice
Eddy - just mystifies me every time he gets a game

Bloody pathetic!
I would delist several posters on this thread for their lack of knowledge and abundance of impulsive and ad hoc comments.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

As I said before Malthouse got it right with Davis, but we continue to allow Milney chances in these games.
Until RL starts to make the big calls, then I' m afraid well continue to run 2nd.

It's idiots like you who stick up for these inept fools, who continually let us down time and time again!!
I'll continue to have my say, whether tools like you like it or not.

I love all the players...we can all argue about selection. Milne got two goals. I don't think any players got three.
Eddy and Peake weren't very good today but they'll get better.
But I agree...it's bl**dy annoying when your team "freezes" on the biggest day of the year.
I reckon if we'd nailed a few of those goals in the second quarter the whole complexion of the game may have been different.

Lenny, Joey, Dal and CJ need help.
The loss of Ball and Harvey in the last two years has been under-rated.
Armo has to stay.

Unfortunately in St.Kilda's case there are too many ifs! Forget about ifs because that's all past tense. Lyon keeps talking about the present moment. That's all it matters...and for all the bloody omens that were meant to be, well they're all just a crock. Again that's getting ahead of yourself!I Love Peter Kiel wrote:I love all the players...we can all argue about selection. Milne got two goals. I don't think any players got three.
