Fitness or Mental?

Post: # 1007042Post Enrico_Misso »

Last week we could/should have won.

This week we weren't even competitive.

Did we run out of fitness?
Or did we just capitulate mentally?

I partly agree with Dan, but there is no guarantee that they would have not come back and applied the same pressure. As much as I dislike them they played a superb game.

Psychologically a few extra goals in the second would have made a huge difference to both sides. Once we cracked, it was over, but we might not have if we'd been in touch.

had it been 5.5 our confidence would have been high.

rooey hand passed off from 45 metres, confidence was shot IMO.

We butchered the chances we had, and were just playing panicky catch up footy. They gave us little time with their pressure. It all just mounted. Not good enough on the day.

Saints looked spent from the start. They used every ounce of physical and mental energy last week. Mind you, if we had kicked the first couple of goals, they would have "found" a lot extra, and Collingwood would have looked slow and burned out.
