This is even worse than the feeling after last years Grand Final.
I don't really feel in the mood to say much... congratulations Collingwood, they were the better team. I know there will be a lot of emotion on here tonight and there's not much consolation to be taken from this, but we were the only team capable of matching Collingwood this year. We showed that last week. The game plan has held up well for the last few years but needs to adapt with the game, today showed that it needs to be more attacking. There's probably a couple of players who need to improve their attacking game or risk losing their place in the team. I don't want to see a massive overhaul of the list, I hope this group stays together but we need to improve.

The Pies probably deserved to win it. They were the Home and Away Premiers. Wait, that was us last year. I take that back.

It is a nightmare. Beaten by a better team and beaten in almost every position. Beaten tactically too. But no other team could have done any better.
Collingwood has raised the bar. We have to raise it again.

Yeah I hate that term "They probably deserved to win". I look back and think how many league table leaders have lost in finals. Were the grand finalists really the best side? Probably over the year, so we should have won last year but didnt, just like 1997.

The best part of 2010 is that we didnt slide out of the finals like in 1998 but this doesnt seem to make me feel better now.

Brisbane won 2001, 2002 and 2003. Did they dersrve it? Certainly not in some years.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

i have no idea what to say
im not gonna let rip because what does it do?
it achieves nothing...

right now im gutted
i have no prob in saying we both went outside for a smoke 5 mins before 3 qtr time and never went back in and headed for the hotel.

im not even going to talk about the game...is there any point?
plenty of others will do it and get on here and we'll hear the same thing we heard last year i guess

what i will say is:
ive caught up with and met some fantastic people this year, its been one hell of a ride and fun while it lasted
we've spent waaaaaaaay too much money and drove waaaaaaaay to many kms but its all been worth it, it might not seem that way now after that performance today, but deep down i know its been worth it
i love this club, always will, crikey who wouldnt, but right now im gutted, even my girl is upset and doesnt understand what happened, neither of us do

it was all over at half time

best wishes guys and girls and to all the peeps ive met and chatted with this year
but right now
we need a few days/weeks off

its been totally draining, and to be honest, im not in the greatest frame of mind or mood right now

we'll be back next year, we all will, because thats what members/supporters do

big heads up to BigRed who let me use his barcode to get my girl in so she cold sit beside me
i wish i couldve touched that cup for you mate

catch ya's soon

Excellent post Matrix. I think that pretty much sums it up. I just feel completely drained and have nothing left to give. I won't be going to Sunday function tomorrow as to be perfectly honest, I just can't face it right now. The thought of any mention of football makes me physically ill.

We will all bounce back and change our outlook in a month or so, but for some of us, we just need some time to lick our wounds. This is the last place I want to be for awhile as already I would like to bang some heads together for some of the posts on here. Way too emotional to be hanging around here or posting for a couple of weeks.

I am still bloody proud of this team for what they have achieved this year as after round 4, there were some serious question marks hanging over our heads with the loss of Roo and everything else that has been thrown at us! We made it to another Grand Final, tied it up and then lost the following week. We just didn't have that little bit extra to give. We are all feeling emotionally drained after this year, can you imagine how the players must be feeling right now? They have lived through it more so than us. We need to remember that.

Safe trip home Matrix. Take it easy on the roads!

there is nothing too say
we all feel it whether we live 5 mins from the G or have flown in from overseas

i too wont be at moorabbin tomorrow, basically because we can get a head start on the roads and be home before its dark

peace to one and all that have stood by us this year
what doesnt kill us makes us stronger

we WILL bounce back
we have done for many a year

love to all and once again, was great to catch up, F*** we've had some laughs

im off to watch a movie......

So, so hard. :( :( :(

I really thought we were in with a big chance today, so to come away with nothing and not even give a yelp is soul destroying.

Last year I didn't cry until Nick spoke.
Today I had a few little tears rolling down my face at half time.

We left at 3/4 time. Just couldn't take it anymore. Some young Pies ferral screamed right in my face about us leaving as we were making our way out. I told him to F off. He was quite surprised coming from a woman. Pack of ferals, can't even win graciously.

They were too good for us today.
So upsetting. So hard to explain how we feel. The extra week and being so close and nearly pinching it makes it doubly hard this week. The bounce of the milne ball, Kosi nearly making it, the ball bouncing around in the forward line in the last minute. We so easily could have pinched it and didn't. Now history says we lost the premiership by 9 goals....just doesn't do our boys and their efforts justice.
We all invest so much, emotionally and also financially and when it comes unstuck like this, its heart breaking.

Stay safe everyone.

Urgh this is a horrible feeling... Everything i feared came true today.

Left with about 5 minutes ago, good for those Sainters who stayed till the end but i seriously could not stay there any longer and didn't wanna hear the siren until i was farrr away.

We had our chance last week, (that f****** bounce for Milne... there is no justice is there) we could've nabbed a flag like Hawks in 08.... but tbh, they ARE an extremely good team and it showed today that *gulp.. they are deserving winners.

What sucks is that i don't know where to for the Saints from here...... Cats era has ended you'd have to say... has our window disappeared too?

no point moping about last week .. dodgy bounces or no we let the pies back in it with their goal and chances after BJ's goal ..

nothing to say about today just was not our day in every possible aspect ..

This list still has 1 or 2 shots in it though .. so I have faith still proud of the boys ..

Well done Mick Malthouse going back in time he deserved a flag for getting an average team so close in 02-03 I suppose ..

Yes...two bounnces...two GF's lost that could have een won.
If Zac's spoi had bounced anywhere except onto Mooney's boot we would have won that one as well.

I left before the finish. Just couldn't stay. Just spent the last hour wandering the city and now holed up in my hotel.
I am gutted. Worst fears realised today and your the only people I have to talk about this with.

I was at Jihad on the Sunday last year ,,, can't see myself doing it again this year though.

Going home tommorow night. The town where I live all think it's pretty funny that I follow a team like St Kilda ,, but like i'll tell all of them ,, I buy my membership ,,, I go to games ,,, I am a supporter.

We will not win in the premiership stakes until we bring skills into the side that are a lot better than Peakes, Dempsters, McQualters and Kosis. They have all had their finals opportunities.

I'm broken.

I can't really say anything more.

That was a bad game.

Been a tough year.

For about three minutes last week I thought we had it won.

So far, far away from what I feel now.
