Last games in a Saints jumper for the following:
Milne, McQualter, Peake and Eddy!!
Milne- big stage failure again, cheap kicks at the end
McQualter - just doesn't know what to do with it, the very few times he gets it!!
Peale- just a waste of a draft choice
Eddy - just mystifies me every time he gets a game
Milne- big stage failure again, cheap kicks at the end
McQualter - just doesn't know what to do with it, the very few times he gets it!!
Peale- just a waste of a draft choice
Eddy - just mystifies me every time he gets a game

does Geary actually exist outside of the home and way season ,, as far as the selectors go.
What's wrong with the selectors ?

I agree BringBackMadDog. I don't think any playing futures should be decided on this game, almost everybody played poorly.

So we take it, get over it and repeat the performance or further lower our standards next year? What needs to change? Something has to and yes, I agree its not all about the players but that is a starting place.BringBackMadDog wrote:Why dont you all just f%ck off, Milne has had a great finals series. Kosi wasn't our worst. I just f%$cking hate the tools that get on here and just bag the sh1t out of our players.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

The last two years the same players have failed in the big games, but for some reason we as a club and supporters continue to tolerate the crap that these blokes dish up when it really matters!!!
Unfotunately RL needs to take a leaf out of MM's book, as he made the big call on Leon Davis, who like Milne isn't worth a cold pie in big games.

Not advocating his departure but it's been a long time since he was in our best.BringBackMadDog wrote:Kosi wasn't our worst.
It is hard to see where the improvement will come from in 2011.
Our kids aren't ready, we rely on too few to do the hard work and when they don't fire no-one else is prepared to step up.

A big trade week coming up, I feel, but yes I believe there a few out there who may have played their last game for the club.
We need to find another forward, badly, we simply do not kick enough goals.
Someone like Satnley, Lynch or someone has to step up next year, or we need to trade to get a third forward.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

The passengers list decide to expand this week - when we were all hoping that there'd be no passengers.
Well deserved win by Collingwood ! .. they did the hard work and learnt from last week - our selectors should be pilloried .. have they heard of a player called Geary ? .. and couldn't they see ground level players were important ? .. why would they go for an inexperienced and slow ruckman instead of another ground level player? .. utter idiots !

have been preplexed over what Eddy has been able to offer us. Was terrible last week and again today. His performance on Maxwell in the first quarter was completely ineffectual. With that role then given to Gilbert, Eddy doesn't have another to play.
I'd say more of a selection issue rather than being Eddy's fault, but really, Ross gets most things right and I have faith in him in everything except the Eddy situation.
Stanley, Geary, and Armitage would all have given us something that Eddy couldn't.

The 22 may require tinkering, but I'd say thats more than tinkering. Knee jerk reaction to Milne, who played a ripping finals series until today. Peake played fantastically against Geelong, although I agree that his disposal sometimes makes him a liability. I think Mini has a fair but of improvement in him, don't give up on him yet.
Chins up guys, we just need a few people in the trade week/draft period to improve on these guys and it's a different ball game. Even without getting anyone, Steven is improving at a rate of knots and Miles looks like he might show something next year.

I don't think trading for another forward will help, the problem lies in the delivery. I think we only had 30-something inside fifties. We must give the forwards we have more opportunities.3rd generation saint wrote:A big trade week coming up, I feel, but yes I believe there a few out there who may have played their last game for the club.

As I mentioned in another thread, if we can expand the number of forward fifty entries per match in the same way we did to the tackle count a few years ago... that's going to help tremendously.
