Brett Peake's boots.

Post: # 999941Post bigred »

Hope they paid you 10k to start wearing them in a GF mate...

As if you want any more pressure on yourself coming into a GF.

Gavin Mitchell's career was doomed the moment he put on the red boots.

Stupid comment?

8 disposals. Was he playing a tagging role?

His game was poor at best.

His six tackles are his saving grace.

Did you notice that he changed boots back to the same type he had been using ALL YEAR at three quarter time?

Needs to lift for replay....

He had one shocking turnover, which end in a two goal turnaround.

When we had a little momemtum in the 2nd, he was running through the middle, and Rooey was giving him a great lead, and instead of hitting him on the chest he butched the ball, kicked it over Rooey's head to his defender. collingwood then broke clear, took to the other end and goaled.

If was great in the qf against the cats, ok against the dogs....

Maybe now he has played a gf, he will do better...

I think he was crazy nervous.

But he had a pig of a game.

His defensive work was good especially late. He worked hard.

But I have to be critical.

I had money on him for the Norm Smith...I was really hoping he could make a name for himself.

Yea, our foot skills need to improve. We kicked it over Roo's head too many times...

But Peake made up for it, he ran from our goal square all the way to the other end to put on a spoil in Collingwood's 50... at a really really crucial time.

Sprinting the entire ground, one side to the other, is really hard, so I was happy he redeemed himself.

Crucial spoil late in the game.

So your over critical comments come from speaking out of your pocket.

Color of boots have no relevance thats what was stupid about your comment.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and we may agree or disagree but to talk about the color of someones boots because you won or lost some dollars is stupid.

I am so happy to have Brett in our side his running ability late in games is amazing. This hard works doesn't always result in a stat but contributes to our team. Like that third man up spoil that may be judged as a game saving effort. Just like another 100 efforts by both sides. this was just one of them.

The guys try their guts out and I have negative comments by supporters who have no idea what is like to be out there.

As for the comment about his role, how would you know about his role?

So because he plays for St.Kilda we should all just be happy for him and slap him on the back.

Why did he change his boots for the Grand Final?

Why would you change your routine coming into the biggest game of your life?

Stupid comment my arse. On the back of an eight possession game....

Pfft I put $10 on him for the Norm Smith because I believed he was capable of winning it. I had $10 on Kosi, Schneider and Milne also. I think I can handle that loss. That has nothing to do with my original critique.

Stop accepting mediocrity. Seriously. We have to be critical of players and their performance on the day or how can you improve?

I wonder if Peake was busy looking at his boots when he should have been standing the mark for Dale Thomas' shot in the first quarter. The mark was 49 metres out but Peake stood about 46 out.

When you can restrict a team to only nine goals, half chances like that are crucial. That was an avoidable one.

All up though I thought Peake was overwhelmed early on but settled to make some good contributions throughout the match.

His hair style is quality.

He and Dal have to be the best looking male red-heads to every walk the earth in my totally heterosexual and completely alpha-male opinion.

I think so, he was definitely going pan young....

Just another fine example of his preperation and ability to take control

Smartest thing I've read on here for awhile. As soon as I read it I thought 'Yes!' Perfect role for Peake.

You put 10 bucks on players that were never going to win the Norm Smith and then abuse one for the colour of the boots he wore. You are an absolute wanker. One day you'll grow up and learn what life's all about.

f*** off Bernard.

You miss the point completely.

The bloke had a pig of a game. Was a deer in the headlights for most of it.

Lined up for the team photo looking the wrong way.....

Played three quarters of football in new kit. Then changed back.

I don't think his head was in the game at all. He was completely overwhelmed.

Players have one piece of kit that they have control over and he messed with his in the biggest game of his career. Then had a game that WAS well below his standard.

Why couldn't Schneider win a Norm Smith?
Why couldn't Peak win it? Why not? I backed them because they are capable of winning it.

I know I'm not the lone ranger betting on them because I got on with crap odds compared to others.

In another thread you mentioned that Ray had a shocker.... Good call. Only played the most important shut down role of his career against the form midfielder in the competition. Good call. Great call.

And you call me a wanker. Have a look in the mirror. Did you even watch the game?

Where on this thread did I abuse Brett Peake in any other way but being critical of his game?

You certainly don't think before you post. Perhaps at least read the whole thread before just launching in. Best to go off with all the information.

One day life might teach you that. I hope that doesn't sound condescending.

Pasties was OK in terms of the defensive side of his game.
But his disposal let him down.

Hopefully next week we will see more of that offensive run-and-carry style that we know he can do.
