4 months ago I organized a holiday to Far North Queensland leaving the Monday after the GF.
I'm now kicking myself. As the final siren sounded and the crowd went silent the realization dawned on me that....I'm farked! Leave and 2k accom is booked and non-negotiable. Round trip flights alone are $700+.
Has anyone got connections in the airline industry that could help out a longsuffering supporter?

I don't know what airline you have booked, but Qantas have this little rule, that they keep quiet, that most cancelled cheapy fares will carry over to another booking less $50.
Accommodation can be a problem, although consumer laws in some states do prevent ridiculous notice periods eg more than 4 weeks. Some fast negotiation might be in order. Good luck.
