Braydon Preuss is absolutely a player who is AFL standard and potentially quite a good ruckman.
But the knock on his body is real. He'd have to complete a full month of pre-season with us before we considered him for an SSP slot.

Re: Ameet the Elite?
I genuinely can't fathom how he's been allowed to get so close to list management. His expertise is financial services; how he's managed to morph beyond banking into the coalface of footy is one of more curious developments. That said, we're still weighed down by Lethlean, so we've still go work to ...

Despite this place being a cesspool of nonsense and garbage these days, it was absolutely enormous in Ross’s first tenure.
Basically brought down a President. Been downhill ever since. 20 years online is still a great effort.

Re: Byrnes and Paton
Byrnes has been terrific this season. I’m amazed he’s under any scrutiny. He’s the most improved player at the club and has saved his career. I’ve almost expired on Paton. I’d rather we gave Highmore a go now; it’s a shame Coffield has been out of action for so long. Connolly, too, deserves a go. I’...

Re: Ross Lyon is a God
His (and the assistants) coaching ability is undeniable at this point. As a unit, they're coaching superbly - both in strategy (the overall game plan) and tactically (in-game moves). Couldn't be happier. Even in our solitary loss, I thought they did a miracle job of keeping us close to the best tea...

I'm sorry only for one person, and that's Jack Steele... Because the opportunities keep presenting themselves. Brad Crouch - are you really ready to be our #1 midfielder? Yes. Marcus Windhager - can you match the hype? Work in progress. Now learning how much work has to be done and that it's not a ...

There's people out there who reckon coaching doesn't matter very much. That it's all down to the players... Well, today you saw the difference between a sensational game plan with full player-buy in, plus terrific in-game coaching moves, and ratty game-plan which relies totally on individuals. Ross ...

Re: Have We (Finally) Run Out Of Bodies?
Relax guys. If we lose this one, or the next one, so be it. We're working on something so much bigger than wins and losses. This is about creating a competitive culture, right to the last man on the list. Fact is, if we have to dig deep into our list to try players out, so be it. They all have to be...

Looked uncomfortable with Chris Scott and the 2 douche bags ..didn't give much away .. Scott said don't fall in love with 2 and zero. Pretty weird segment on 360. Any one else watch it.? Re: Next Week Must Be A Statement
It's a huge game. For us, especially - the long suffering fans. But for the players, it's just another game. They just need to attack the first 15 minutes of the game as they have done, and then keep biting off each quarter as they come. I just want them to stay focused on doing what they're doing, ...

Re: Ross Lyon is a God
The real miracle is that Alan Richardson was allowed to coach six seasons at our football club and is our second longest serving coach of ALL-TIME. Ross will move past GT in six weeks' time, and past Richo in 16 weeks. GT had a huge impact on our footy club. Richo's was negligible. Lyon is only seco...

I’d love to know any of these ‘magical game plans’ That make teams better than they are?! I think you’ll find - they are all similar and copies off each other The game plan that Ross Lyon is currently using, versus the game plan Brett Ratten used, is literally night and day. That's about as close t...

Re: Ross Lyon is a God
Ross Lyon is one of the most important figures in the history of St Kilda.
He may not win us a second flag, or he might win us our next three.
Either way, he is a sensational coach, and I wouldn't want anyone else in charge of our football club as we celebrate our 150th anniversary.

I'd love to keep him. He's so slick by foot and makes fantastic decisions.
On the flip side, the compensation package to get him will need to be very strong. It would have to be significant upgrade on the pick used (11) to land him, given we've put in the development work.

Re: Rate Ryan Byrnes’ game!
Tries his guts out but his kicking is a real worry, 2023 version of Clint Jones? I genuinely reckon there's a place for this kind of player. Earns $200,000, runs all day and fights his guts out to keep his career alive by giving 120% every week. Can make a living out of that. I hope that's what Byr...

Next man in. Paton, Connolly, Highmore. Who wants it the most? Or does Van Es want it so badly that he crashes in? No issue from my end. We just keep finding out who wants it the most. Because of injuries to others, we just discovered that Ryan Byrnes is potentially going to make it as an AFL footba...

Re: Rate Ryan Byrnes’ game!
That was a massive game from Byrnes. He was asked to step up; he had to step up. He did step up. Will he make it? A long way to go yet. But that's easily his best game and he didn't look out of place against a really good midfield. For better or worse, we need either he or Bytel to make it. They're ...

Re: Was a great win against the odds .
We may lack skill, but we now have a game plan that isn't reliant on skill. That made us unbelievably competitive yesterday. That's also going to give the players confidence, which will, in turn, boost their ability to execute basic skills. Ross Lyon has made an enormous impact already. It's the fir...

He certainly isn't a forward. He did two nice things - counting the tackle and goal as two - but his only place in our line-up, if at all, is in defence.

Re: Round 1 side
Our best chance to win this game is to grind and grind hard. We don't have the firepower to blow Freo away. So do we have the grit to lock them down, arm wrestle them and fight to win? It'll be huge for the club if we do. Equally, too much tends to go on R1. We stuffed it last year and won 8 of the ...

Re: Today's Herald Sun every StK player rated
All up, not an unfair review - actually pretty generous in places, I thought. Probably Membrey deserves a higher ranking. He's vital to our success. I thought it was an accurate review up until they rated Byrnes Exactly my thoughts - Byrnes is notoriously wayward with his disposal under pressure. Th...
