Re: The other courage- Guerra story

So he admits he had no control with gambling, acted on impulse but never bet on footy.

Right.

Just like all the other footballers with gambling problems, somehow they had restraint only when it came to betting on footy.

I always thought she was a Swans fan. In particular, Ryan O'Keefe.

Re: Peter Francis

I remember this as well. From memory we had a truck load of injuries to both the seniors and reserves and we were short on numbers so Peter pulled the boots on.

Debut match for Chris Grant and Justin Charles. Not that I'm answering anyone's question with that. Also the first game I ever attended.

Re: Cripps and P.26 for Brown?

Maybe go Cripps for 41 and wait a year for Brown to come out of contract and walk to us where we can bend West Coast right over the table. Consider it the one deal done over two years.

Re: Has anyone ever picked up at a Footy match?

I tried once at a game in 1998. Sneaky glances going both ways and my mates urged me to give it a go. Turned out she lived in Geelong and I had very little to contribute to the conversation after that.

He's part-time at the Saints these days. Would have been a fair strain on his time though.

Brett Ratten to Aaron Hamill

I have vivid recollections of Aaron Hamill's first game against his former team in 2001. Most of his ex-teammates were alright with him but Brett Ratten was merciless and gave him hell all day for being a mercenary. Anyway, Aaron Hamill's still at St Kilda and Brett Ratten's starting to understand t...

Re: roo

If we're going to discredit opinions just because of where they come from maybe we should give some thought to the idea that the club might be saying Nick's alright when he's actually not.

I've heard that sometimes clubs lie about injuries to star players.

Could go along with what Geelong did for Joel Corey - call him 'Smithy' just because he has two first names but no surname.

FROM MEMORY AT THE TIME: A.Fletcher - Peter Hudson was trying to be a smartarse with contract negotiations after Fletcher's one year with us. That backfired. D.Rice - Had knee problems but got over them. D. Kickett - Exactly the same fate as Fletcher C.Davenport - Attitude. Thought he was a lot bett...

If the AFL didn't play their reserves players in that competition, the league wouldn't exist anymore. Do we not remember how close the whole competition came to folding about 10 years ago?

Re: Michael Barlow - Deceitful scumbag…

Good move by us re-drafting Gehrig instead of Barlow all those years ago.

Up there with other re-drafting strokes of genius like taking Matthew Ferguson for his fifth season of VFL footy ahead of Aaron Edwards in '06.

Re: Nicky loves Lenny!

I liked the sentiment in the article but it wasn't written particularly well. Can't help but think a few club officials went out of their way to tinker with it and make it as PR-friendly as possible.

And I do wonder about Bakes' ability to function as an adult.

Anyone know why Kosi's eligible for the veterans list and not Roo? Both started the same year and there's only a month difference in age. Unless the age cut-off is end of September, but I find that hard to believe.

To be fair, that's not how it works with employment. You kind of need your new job to start pretty quickly after your old one ends.
